It's at all levels.
I sound like an old guy (I'm not young but not old), but I remember when the goal was to win a state championship with the guys you grew up with, then to get a scholarship to State U that you grew up rooting for. Times have changed.

I root for laundry. If they're wearing an OU logo, I'll support them. I'd rather them be there for four years instead of one, but I'll still root for them.
When the game starts, I forget they're being paid legally.
Another take: Toby has to walk a line as both a journalist/radio host and as the voice of the team. There are things he has to keep under his hat. Things we'll never know about the football, basketball, and baseball programs.
Wonder why he's coming out with this now? Did Porter give him permission?
TCU was the opening round game in the Big 12 tournament. We thought we were in the Big Dance until 5 teams won auto-bids and stole ours. We "rested starters" to get ready for the NCAA tournament, and lost handily to TCU.
Turns out we weren't resting starters, but a key player walked out on his...
C and 1/2. OU gets a Last Four In, loses in Dayton, Moser is retained. Cheaper to increase NIL than to pay a buyout.
Scenario that makes me happiest is F. I always root for OU to win. This puts us in the Sweet 16. Porter also becomes more marketable and takes another job.
If he plays, we have a better chance to win that game and we nail down a tournament bid. Porter has every right to be mad about that on multiple levels.
As a team that needs a win to make the tournament, it benefits us. Instead of probably going one-and-done against #3 seed Alabama, we get a competitive winnable game against Georgia.
This format benefits those at the top (rewarding them for a great regular season with fewer tournament games)...
