Porter is for all intents and purposes an interim coach now. Next season is going to be uncomfortable and difficult. That is, unless the coaching carousel picks back up and Porter is able to backfill somewhere else.

I wonder if the new GM is reporting to Porter, or directly to Roger? Did Roger hire him, or did Porter? I think a GM is way overdue. Again, I think Roger is trying to take the next year to make the job attractive to a new coach. If Porter benefits, so be it.
