I don’t think we’ll ever really know how much the thumb bothered him versus Texas. But it wouldn’t shock me if he was cleared prematurely and/or aggravated it during the game.
I think he was throwing at around 80% or so during the Texas game, but the not practicing for three weeks got him. He...
I get that. But numbers only tell half the story. I’m not getting paid to do it so I only watched a handful of videos from each guy. But they all atleast seem to have better mechanics than Mateer which is clearly showing to be a pretty big deal. Now, how good is their decision making? Idk. But...
Let’s slow down there internet tough guy. I’m sure one day he’ll regret wasting an entire season at one of the greatest football programs in existence when he’s sitting in his cubicle.
That’s the point. I’m wondering if MU fans are blaming Pribula’s struggles on Saturday on his injury or not. I tend to think , from watching the game, that he moved pretty well and I don’t think it was obvious he just had his ankle destroyed four weeks prior. Even Gabe and Teddy were pretty...
He played one of his best games at South Carolina a week after the Texas injury and we thought he was getting over it.. Then he played awful against Ole Miss. Some people fell back on the thumb excuse. Then we thought he was close to 100% in the second half of the Tennessee game. Then we...
I’m not gonna argue with you on this point, because we really have no clue. But I don’t think the injury is a factor anymore. But maybe he comes back after the three weeks before the playoff game and lights it up. Then I’d be more inclined to say the injury lasted a lot longer than many of us...
Alrighty. Didn’t have a lot of time, but I was able to do some research on a few names.
Now, these are younger guys from smaller programs who might be willing to compete with Mateer and/or Hawkins. Obviously we are working with hypotheticals. No particular order.
Colton Joseph from Old...
I agree with you in theory, but I don’t think you tell anyone, including Mateer, that it’s likely his job in 2026. I don’t think he’s played well enough to be guaranteed anything. 8 touchdowns to 7 interceptions. That’s not the OU standard.
Why does Mateer have to he run off? Why can’t BV and crew find another guy who is willing to compete with Mateer and Hawkins? I think there’s a middle ground between Mateer is guaranteed starter or he’s run off. Unless, those days of true competition are over.
One thing has to happen though...
