Update: we actually beat two of the teams in the last week that we lost to by 1 earlier in our schedule. Won one game by 5 in OT on the road and won one by 18 at home Friday night.
That's a contract extension, right?
LOL
Well when you expect to build a CONSISTENT winner.....you better at least be competitive in NIL. There is a reasonbpro teams like the Pirates are consistently at the bottom.
I don't think NIL is our sole problem but it plays a huge factor...especially when you are talking about bigs.
You do...
Well, I'll tell you I'm pretty firmly on the part ways with PM train these days.
I just feel like we have more big problems than just PM. We HAVE to fix the NIL discrepancy for any coach that is here and get better facilities. For starters..
I loved Hollis as a player but I'm not, in any way, in love with the idea of Kellen and never have been. Mainly I don't think we pull him from Houston and why would he want that? He'll be the next coach at Houston, which is set up better in every way for a coach:
More $$ backing them
Better...
We aren't really athletic enough to run man at our level. We run multiple zone looks and hope we don't get shot out of it but we have a couple teams in our league that can really shoot it.
Fortunately my kids play hard (although that is the expectation set).
We aren't very deep....obviously...
Probably...lol
We are actually 2 years removed from the first 20 win season in 26 years here....that was my first year here...then we moved up a class and its been a struggle. We compete but can't get over the hump. Moving back down will help tremendously.
I coach HS basketball in TX.
We are a 5A team (but have 4A numbers and will be moving down next year).
We currently sit 1-8 in our district schedule and we are #8 out of 9 teams.
5 Of our district losses are by 1, 1, 1, 6 and 8
We are literally 18 points from being 6-3 in district instead of...
I coached a high school game like that once....but they called every touch on the perimeter and let the bigs maul each other. There were 110 FTs shot...we shot 52 and they shot 58. Game took 3 hours....it was BRUTAL
Alphabet Bob had an interview with Moser about the portal. Interesting read about learning the portal and adjusting.
Part of what has been said here the last couple of years and how coaches learning how to manage the portal and the transfers, etc.
My athletic directors future son-in-law was drafted in the second round....he got like $3 mil at signing......thats life changing money. He signed and his been working his way up through the minors the last 4 years. I think he's in double A now
First time I haven't had hip join pain in a year...the ball in my hip was completely disintegrated. Still have a way to go in PT but I'm walking so I'm feeling good.
