I think you’ve got your Davis’s mixed up. The only Davis on that team was Linwood & he was a 5’11” guard. William (I think that’s who you’re thinking of) was on the ‘89 & ‘90 teams.

I’m oversimplifying by not going into details, but the bottom line is they had Paige & we didn’t. With Juju out, she’s the best player left in the tournament (& there’s a legit argument that she was anyway, Juju or no Juju). Sometimes you just have to tip your cap.

It tells me that in today’s landscape, he hasn’t gotten a fair shot. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not been perfect ( I about went through the roof when he wouldn’t get off the floor in Austin, etc.) but he’s been coaching with one hand tied behind his back pretty much since he came here.

No offense, but you might want to dig a little deeper on Schaefer. I can’t stand the team he’s with now, but he’s one dang good coach. The guy got Mississippi State to back-to-back national championship games, & snapped UConn’s 111 game winning streak in getting to the first one. I don’t like it...

Hate pointing out the obvious, but getting an AA PG back does tend to help the cause.
