MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with getting some advice and feedback from NBA scouts. The concern is when 100+ guys decide to enter the draft before their eligibility expires. I wonder how many end up regretting that they can never tell their grandchildren they were NBA draft picks because they...

I don't think Eielson is overrating him at all. We won 14 games the year he was our best player. But if he was the 6th or 7th best player, it would have meant we had a pretty darn good team. The guy simply got better every year...we could use more players like that.

    Dayton Forsythe looks LEGIT

These comparisons make little sense because the Moser era is only three years old. Of the previous five head coaches, all had flaws - no one had a worse first year than Billy Tubbs; no one took longer to get their first NCAA Tournament win than Kelvin Sampson; no one had a talented team implode...

NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

At least so far, you called it Nick by picking the T-Wolves to win the series. I'll admit I wouldn't have made that prediction even though the Nuggets didn't exactly dismantle my overmatched Lakers (trailed at halftime in all 5 games). That said, I doubt anyone could have predicted the...

Correct. The Lakers need a sharp-shooter (like a more confident than at the moment Buddy Hield) and a defensive specialist. Trae Young is neither. You and I are of similar age, so I know you remember Michael Cooper. As great as those Lakers teams were in the '80s, we don't have all those...

I'm familiar with all of those guys...Rudy T probably comes the closest to Lenny Wilkins as a great player and head coach. Nelson and Sloan were good players, but great head coaches. Russell and Bird were short-term head coaches, though obviously legends as players. The problem (and it's with...

Lots of reasons for that, though Lebron's play is not one of them. You simply can't ask for any more production from an NBA player pushing 40 years old. What has hurt is when they let LeBron try to play the role of GM. Memo to all current and former NBA superstars - if your name is not Jerry...

NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

I knew before the series started that Russell would have to play at a near All-Star level (which he is capable of) for the Lakers to have any chance. It looks like a sweep is coming. I'm sad for Buddy that he has been taken out of the rotation with only 4 minutes played last night. His...

My Lakers lost a tough one after being up 20 early in the third quarter. Yes, a poor bench is not helping...thought Dinwiddle would have made more of an impact. Austin R has been okay, but not what he was last year in the postseason. The bottom line is they are playing against a better team...

MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Thanks to all for the replies...hope we can get a commit just to get some momentum underway. I have no idea how much (or little) a spring football game can help, but seemingly can't hurt with whoever visited over the weekend.

MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

I don't follow the portal as closely as many of you, so please forgive my ignorance with this question. Does anyone know WHY this guy (who was seemingly a near lock a week ago) is no longer interested in OU? I can't help but think that if we know the why part, it will explain the reason we're...

Trae is obviously a very good player, but he really hasn't improved since his second year in the NBA. I was hoping he would have developed into a good outside shooter (as opposed to a streaky one), and become at least an average defensive player. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Draft Day...

As much as I love my Lakers, the only way we're beating Denver is if they are not playing their best. That certainly can happen, especially with a defending champion since the desire / urgency won't be the same as the prior year. I worry about the Lakers defensively, plus how they will compete...

NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

I'm thinking the same thing. The only way to avoid Denver is to LOSE to New Orleans in the first play-in game, and then beat the GS / Sac winner. Obviously, we have to root for LA to beat NO as the chips fall where they fall. Also, as much of an Austin Reaves fan as I am, we really need...

    '24 NCAA Tourney Discussion Thread

My best guess would be Mountain and Pacific time zones. They only make up a little more than a third of the country, but it's an interesting stat nonetheless. I also didn't realize until last night that the Big 10 Conference hadn't won a Natty in hoops since the turn of the century (Michigan...
