Have we ever had a starting front line of 6'8, 6'9, 6'10"?

Dave Sieger, Tim McCalister, Darryl Kennedy, David Johnson, Chuck Watson, Mark Wade and Joe Seager. Who would have thought Tubbs would sign a 7-player class which NONE were JUCOs :-). That class basically carried the torch Tubbs and Tisdale lit. Wade leaving probably hurt more than most will...

    Ebi Ere

I don't know who Gandy was, but you nailed it with Clark and Pierce - BOTH who came to OU the same year Wayman did. I believe Clark had the second highest vertical in college hoops...forgot why he didn't make it to the finish line at OU.

    Ebi Ere

I'm sure all OU fans wish Ebi nothing but the best. I recall his playing days. When he was playing well, OU was basically unstoppable. I'll never forget his play in the non-conference games his senior year, most notably at UConn. For whatever reason, he went into a funk the latter part of...

Have we ever had a starting front line of 6'8, 6'9, 6'10"?

Correct. I had it wrong, but Billy Tubbs deserves part of the blame :-). In the most productive and deepest recruiting class in school history (1983), Billy had the nerve to recruit both Dave Sieger and Joe Seager. That Seager was the only one of the 7 signees who didn't make an impact in...

NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

You may be right, but I did see him miss three wide-open looks. He didn't look like he had the confidence that he clearly showed tonight. Shaq and Charles can't stop giving him props for his game tonight. Ernie Johnson had an extensive interview with Buddy as well. For those who didn't see...

Have we ever had a starting front line of 6'8, 6'9, 6'10"?

The answer to the question in the subject line MIGHT be from the 1973 and 1974 teams. Alvan Adams, Tom Holland and Ted Evans were all 6'9" and all got extensive playing time...but I have no idea if both Holland and Evans started. We may need one of the old-timers to set us straight. Bob...

NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

I was incredibly frustrated watching Buddy in Games 5 and 6 (4 and 0 points), but what a show he put on tonight! 33 points while tying a Game 7 record with NINE 3-point shots made. He played great defensively as well! I hope in the next series he can be a little more consistent. He doesn't...

Have we ever had a starting front line of 6'8, 6'9, 6'10"?

In '87, Stacey King was a reserve, and yes, David Johnson was starting alongside Harvey Grant and Choo Kennedy. Dave Seager was starting alongside Grant and King in '88. Tony Martin started alongside King in '89. Different frontcourts for different years :-).

NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

I agree with most of this. We don't really know how much NBA players give back to the community like we do in the NFL. The Walter Payton Man of the Year is a highly coveted award, and each team has a nominated representative. The NBA just doesn't have anything like this. I haven't followed...

    Transfer Portal 2025

Yes, I can see that as a legit concern. As I was walking out of the arena in Charlotte after we beat Michigan in December (no doubt the high point of the season), I told the lady who went with me: "The conference season is going to be brutal if we don't get better play in the post". While I'm...

    2025 Jake Hansen commits

Welcome aboard, young man! I'm not trying to put limitations on anyone, but let's just say for argument's sake he's too small to be in the rotation. If he's at least a good shooter, he will help in practices. Let him knock down some shots so that the person responsible for not switching on...

NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

My Lakers have been eliminated...rather easily I might add. While it was no doubt a subpar series for AR, the bottom line is the Lakers not having anything close to a low-post presence. I was a kid when Wilt Chamberlain played, but I could swear he just came back to earth as Rudy Gobert. The...

    OT: Football Talk

Great to finally see Danny Stutsman off the board early in Round 4 (Saints). I thought he would go mid-late Round 3, but I'm far from an expert at this. I did see Billy Bowman going early-mid Round 4, and he went mid-round (Falcons). Any other Sooners getting drafted today? Ethan Downs...

Fears & the NBA Draft Projections

My apologies for my prior post...while I don't take anything back, I picked the wrong thread to post that. This is about Fears and the NBA. My bad. Like the NFL Draft, I will be watching the NBA Draft closely. I'm genuinely happy to read that Fears is moving up the Draft Boards. I also...
