NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

Big game for AR last night with 30 points as the Lakers beat the Bulls 142-130. I'm not sure I have ever seen a game where a team scores 142 points and only 5 by the bench. Trae has been playing well in limited minutes since he's on a pitch count. Fears is playing like the solid rookie he...

OU has never played this well late in the season in years they were projected to miss the Dance prior to the conference tourney. In 1997 and 1998 we played our way into the Dance by winning 2 and 3 games respectfully, but we weren't on fire during the end of the regular season like this year.

GAME 34- SEC TOURNAMENT - OKLAHOMA (19-14) vs ARKANSAS (23-8 8:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

If we beat Arkansas, not only are we off the bubble, but we also elevate above the "Last Four In" category. I don't think I can handle being the first or second team out for the third time in five years. That only happened one time prior - 1993. To be fair, there were times when we were...

GAME 33- SEC TOURNAMENT - OKLAHOMA (18-14) vs TAMU (21-10) 8:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

I know a few schools have received an at-large bid with 15 losses, but I don't believe anyone has made it with 16...and Auburn will not be the first. 17-16? Not happening. The bubble is weak, but not THAT weak. Bruce Pearl can whine all he wants about Miami of Ohio, but his son's school is...

Yup...that was Osby and Pledger's team...and M'baye was the third best player. I believe Hornbeak started more games than Buddy that year (they were both freshmen). Regardless, 20 wins sounds nice right about now...and would lock us in to the Dance. Here's an excruciating thought for some...

Two years ago, I started a thread to predict what SEED we would have in the 2024 NCAA Tourney...that thread did not age well. Let's beat Arkansas before stating any certainties.

Great win today, and it looks like Joe Lunardi has updated his bracket...and (becoming all too familiar for the 2020s) OU is the FIRST TEAM OUT. I know there are better prognosticators out there than Lunardi, but I have to at least think he's "in the ballpark". His last two in are SMU and...

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/47809690/bubble-watch-mens-ncaa-tournament-march-madness-bracket-predictions-2026 Don't look now, but guess which school in the SEC was just elevated to the "Work to Do" category along with Auburn? Texas is in a category I hadn't seen...

No one should be diminishing the accomplishments this past month. Another way to look at it, though, is OU still has work to do to offset nine losses in a row prior to that. I had always thought OU needed to win three games in this tournament since beating South Carolina wasn't likely to move...

Are you sure he has taken the results from the Ole Miss game? I thought Texas was barely in the field before tonight. In fairness, they are .500 in conference so that is going to be a plus for them.

    2025 - 2026 Coaching Carousel

Here's the thing with hiring assistant coaches. As with any sport, the best ones almost always come from the same coaching trees. In the NFL, you were much more successful hiring a disciple from Bill Parcells or Bill Walsh than Bill Belichick (proven many times over). Which college hoops head...

LOL...the one loss was a shutout against the only good team they played in the last four games. But let's say OU won that game and finished 6-5...even went to a bowl game and won that too. It would not have mattered. The decision was made once OU lost to Texas 34-3...and solidified after...

I think that comment was made at the end of regulation when we choked away our lead. As I stated in the game thread, it was a very painful reminder of the 2013 OT game in Austin...but was obviously eased by winning this time.

    GAME 31- OKLAHOMA (16-14) @ TEXAS (18-12) 7:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

If we're not in many "Next Four Out" lists after beating Texas, then three wins next week is the minimum. Beating South Carolina and Texas A&M isn't going to move the needle that much. If we're fortunate enough to win those two games, we're going to have to upset Arkansas. Difficult, but not...

    GAME 31- OKLAHOMA (16-14) @ TEXAS (18-12) 7:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

One game at a time, guys! Let's beat South Carolina. We looked totally uninspired the first time we played them so I'm looking for a completely different energy level this time. As tough as the end of regulation was today, it was nothing as excruciating as the 2013 game at Texas. That also...
