There have been several instances where 1 great player has carried a team to the final 4.
George Mikan Depaul 40s final 4
Bob Kurland Okie A & M won twice
Tom Gola LaSalle early 50s won it
Clyde Lovellette KU 52 won it
Bob Petitt LSU final 4 53
Wilt Chamberlain KU 57 2nd
Bill Bradley Princeton early 60s 3rd Place
Elvin Hayes Houston 69 2nd place
Danny Manning KU 88 won it
Blake Griffin OU close

Just land one great player or 2 real studs and a run can be made.

I'm sure that anyone who follows hoops could come up with a list three times longer, of teams that had one superstar and couldn't make it. Many of the teams listed has super solid role players that complimented the superstars....
