Just curb stomped Iowa today. Great game to watch, and was pleasantly surprised. I guess they learned from the 3rd quarter Saturday.

Looking forward to the next round.
I was a little worried about this game. Iowa has a lot of tournament experience and I worried we might be uptight. But what a performance! They didn’t let the early foul trouble with Beers and Vann bother them. Sahara looked like a five-star today and the younger Vann gave them a big boost off the bench.
A likely match up with UConn will be a tall order, but if they can play like they did today, they could give the Huskies a game. I think they can be even better next year with a couple of pickups in the late signing period.

What a tremendous win for this team and this program. First Sweet 16 since 2013!!! Over a decade ago! As someone who watched every game since 2013, I felt every second of that drought and I don't take for granted being back! Especially happy for the group of seniors who stayed through the coaching change. In today's age of the transfer portal, we may never get to enjoy athletes for 4-5 straight years again.

UConn is one of the few legit national championship contenders. Paige is special and is playing like this is her last chance to win it all. But if we play like we did today and hit open shots, anything can happen.

BOOMER SOONER!!!!
(Also come on in Aaliyah, the water's warm!)

We really played great defense today and just stymied Iowa and wouldn’t let them run their offense. Also we were dominant on the boards…we had 24 offensive boards and held Iowa to only 5. Forced 20 turnovers and kept ours to 15.

Also really showed our depth today…in the first half Raegan, Skylar and Payton only scored 6 points combined…so it was Sahara, Zya and Liz that carried us to the 11 point lead (plus everyone played intense defense).

Great crowd today…over 8,000 for Monday afternoon.

I watched the Iowa coach's press conference as well as Jennie's. She made a point that they only shot 7 free throws, which is true. But, they had fewer fouls than us in the first half and Reagan and Skylar both sat for a long time because they both had 2 fouls fairly early. Sahara and Skylar both made the point that when we are playing well, we are very hard to guard. Players that are hard to guard get to the free throw line more than other players do and today was an example of that.

Holy moly…i was working on the farm and didn’t get to watch it or listen. Crazy.

This team… lol… either that Florida school was better than the committee thought or the team played to their level.

Genuinely thought it would be a tighter game.

I think everyone thought it would be a closer game. I was really worried about it.

Saw someone posted the Iowa coach mentioned FT discrepancy….. was officiating that bad? Of course lots of factors go into it.. driving vs shooting outside etc. I didn’t see the game.

In the first half, the officials called 8 fouls on us and 6 on Iowa, if I remember correctly. Reagan and Skylar sat on the bench for most of the first half due to having 2 fouls a piece. The total number of fouls for the game was 19 for Iowa and 15 for us. There was one technical foul against the Iowa bench. I listened to her press conference and her main frustration was the number of free throws they shot compared to us. We were 19/27 and they were 4/7. They didn't shoot many FT in their first game either. To me, it seemed that as they got further behind, they became more aggressive on defense and it resulted in more fouls. As Sahara and Skylar said in the press conference, when we are playing very well, we are very hard to guard. I think that results in more free throws for us because they foul our shooters. Defensively, we played very well.

Ok, like I said, if they were shooting more outside and we were driving, plus if they were more aggressive defensively because of being behind.

As I’ve said on other things, fouling shooters vs fouling a dribbler can increase this.

Thanks.. that’s a big difference, but we’ve been on the other side several times as well. I get the frustration.

She mentioned several times that they didn't lose the game because of that but not shooting free throws in both games frustrated her.

Reagan must dominate on the inside if we have a chance against UConn. I don’t want her roaming outside the paint at all!
