#15 OU vs Georgia 1:30pm 1/26

86-55 win. Blew them out in the 1st half and coasted to the win. Jennie started Reyna Scott for Tot and Reyna had a solid game. Balanced scoring game with Verhulst and Beers scoring 13, Sahara 12 and Liz Scott 10.

Next week is a tough one with at LSU on Thursday and then Kentucky at home on Sunday.

Only 17 TO’s… an improvement. That’s good. Ya, lsu going to be very tough. There, they lost to sc, hopefully we can keep TO’s down. Uga isn’t a def juggernaut

I will continue to chant my mantra- "More Scott, less Tot. " I was very impressed with Culleton today, she made some really nice inside passes to and from Liz for easy buckets by both. Liz hitting a 3 was the highlight of the game for sure. And both Reyna and Zya had nice midrange jumpers

Reyna is looking more and more confident setting the offense. She can get to the rim pretty well also.

I always believe Reyna was capable of this. Culleton I wasn't a believer, but it certainly appears that playing against Raegan every day in practice has been good for her. She's a capable back up, now if only KJ could get some more time- she's been relegated to a minor player

KJ has been relegated because Beatrice is outplaying her. I wouldn't have believed that would happen judging from their contributions last season.

I'm also a fan of Reyna and believe she'll likely continue to improve. But I also still acknowledge Tot's contributions. She played well against Georgia in a backup role, and when she's on top of her game she's a capable (if vertically challenged) point guard.

I have always thought Reyna would contribute and she has gotten better and done, but I believe Tot is still needed. Believe she needs to be in when we need a floor general. Both are getting playing time and that is good for them and the team. Y
I feel like Liz should get more playing time. She seems to be playing the best ball of her college career. And not to beat a dead horse, but I still do not believe we have gelled. It is not about not having athletes, it is about playing chemistry. I am not sure why Lexy wasn't able to get more shots up in the first of conference play.....should there have been screens for her? Sky needs to put up more shots, maybe she just thinks a pass would lead to a better shot. But she is a great three point shorter and great closer to the rime, just knowing how to shoot the ball over a taller defender. Bea is doing well and, of course, Payton. Aubrey and Kierston are not getting enough playing time to show what they can do.........maybe that results from what they are doing in practice. Maybe it is a choice the coach has to make , She can;t okay then all. Right now, I would say Lexy and Bea are the better alternatives. I like that Landry has come in and been able to play a few good minutes in the last couple of games.
Appreciate all the players and am glad they are here.

On her show with Toby last night Jennie said that the bye week and the practice time helped the on court chemistry. When you think about it, the addition of Reagan Beers changed the roles of everyone on the team. Sahara no longer has to guard centers. Skylar doesn't play with her back to the basket as much. Liz is utilizing her quickness better. It's interesting how the addition of one player affects everyone else on the team.

I think you hit the nail on the head about roles changing with the addition of one player. I believe that’s why Skylar has struggled this year. She’s used to playing back to the basket quite a bit. She doesn’t have the quickness to play facing the basket and her 3 point shooting has never been that great. Hopefully she finishes this year strong. We could use her.

totally agree about Sky not having the quickness to play facing the basket - it's been brutally exposed in SEC play and her contribution has dwindled. With her and Tot both not producing as much, it almost feels like Beers coming in has been an equalizer, but maybe it'll pay off in tourney play? We've had so many 'what if' losses this season, i feel like we could legit be a one loss team if we just changed our TO issue, but maybe that's just not going to happen with JB as coach? Really hoping we don't lose to Kentucky - if we do that bodes badly for our seeding and last few tricky games (Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and even Bama could all be losses). Enjoying Reyna getting more minutes and believe we're better defensively with her in for Tot. I still believe we need to bring in 2-3 portal players that are athletes and scorers to help this team jump to that next level next season.
