I had read about this a while back .. (and forgot) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...s-commit-16-team-mega-event-honor-phil-knight

but was reading about the joe c ncaa selection committee replacement and it came up again today .. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...-tournament-selection-committee-chairman-2017

Next season, his Spartans will play in one of two eight-team tournaments to honor Nike founder Phil Knight. Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Florida, Ohio State, UConn, Georgetown, Texas, Stanford, Oregon, Oklahoma, Xavier, Butler, Gonzaga and Portland also have committed to play in the November showcase

those are both going to be loaded tourneys .. .. I guess since the contracts were signed a while ago .. 2 of the 3 from gtown Xavier and butler will be in the same tourney ..

2 SEC 2 BIG 2 ACC 2 BIG12 2 PAC12 2(original big east gtown/UConn) 2 former A-10 schools butler and Xavier and 2 WCC

all NIKE schools .. this will be fun ..

It should be fun but the Sooners will be in a rebuilding mode after losing Buddy, Isaiah, and Ryan to graduation.

A very early starting five might be Woodard, Lattin, Manyang, Buford, and Odomes with McGusty, James , and McNeace off the bench. That would be a big lineup so McGusty or James might add quickness and ball handling help for Woodard....... November of 2016 might be too early for McGusty to break into the lineup. Pritchard sure would help.

It's fun to speculate.

could be right .. the first link says nov of 2017 the second link says next season so who knows ..

I'm almost certain its in November of 2017, which is good because we'll have a bit more experience under our belts.

That 2016 season, Manyang, Lattin, McNease, James, Buford, Odomes, Doolittle, McGusty, etc. will be our core group, so by 2017, they'll be seasoned vets.

I think "reloading" is a better term than "rebuilding".

This team is stacking itself with talent. Let's hope Pritchard re-thinks things and comes back to OU.

This is why it's going to be so important to get lots of quality minutes for Buford, James, Odomes, and Lattin this season because they'll be the core nucleus of experienced talent after we lose Buddy and the gang.
