I created this thread now because the last couple of seasons commitments have started piling up around this time. If anything is inaccurate let me know and I'll change it.

Kansas added Memphis transfer Dedric Lawson(6'9 RS/Jr F) today. He will redshirt during the 2017-18 season per transfer rules. He averaged 19.2 ppg/9.9 rpg/3.3 apg/2.1 bpg as a So at Memphis during the 2016-17 season.

Kansas also added Memphis transfer K.J. Lawson(6'7 RS/Jr F) today. He will redshirt during the 2017-18 season per transfer rules. He averaged 12.3 ppg/8.1 rpg/2.8 apg as a RS/Fr at Memphis during the 2016-17 season.

A little late on this one. Baylor added Yale transfer Makai Mason(6'1 RS/Sr PG) on 5/11. He will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer. He will play at Yale during the 2017-18 school year. Redshirted during the 2016-17 school year due to a broken foot. Averaged 16.0 ppg/3.8 apg/2.8 rpg as a So at Yale during the 2015-16 season.

Is it just me or is it strange a guy would announce he is transferring a year early and still play with his old team for a year?

It's because he plays in the ivy league. He had to sit out one year due to injury, and you only have 4 years to play 4 in the ivy league. So therefore if he wants to play his 4th year of college basketball he will have to do so at another school as a graduate transfer.

Ah thank you, didn't realize the IVY league had that rule.
