If the only top guard we get is Cortes that would be an embarrassment. Cortes is the 4th best of the guards we are seemingly going after, too. Lots of work to do on the recruiting trail.

Yeah I’ll still see how it plays out, but this one hurt. Not as bad as Bryce Thompson, still holding out hope KU gets hit before next year.

Unfortunately doesn’t SEEM to be Kruger’s strong suit...🥴

Buzz Williams is a dogged recruiter. He'll turn the Aggies into a tourney team before long.

Will they be another program we lag behind, like OSU and Tech and Texas and all the others with younger, dynamic coaches who dominate year in and year out? I’ve lost count of how many of those are out there lol.

aTm? aTm?

WTF?

Horrible.

Recruiting failures. Again. Kruger’s biggest problem.

I’ll preface this post by saying I like Buzz Williams and when Capel was fired, was excited about him being a potential candidate when he was at Marquette. Since then however I still don’t have the same enthusiasm but he’s still likable.

With that said, what has he done that makes him spectacular, even to the point of wanting to get rid of Kruger to get Buzz?

He's a likable guy with a career winning % at about .610, barely over .500 in the NCAA, only made it past the sweet 16 once, and despite coaching at different schools and conferences, has never coached his teams to a outright conference title.

These are the same reasons people list to justify moving on from Kruger.

Don’t confuse people with facts. :) I mean, don’t you understand...Buzz is energetic and outgoing and he must be more competitive than Lon because he shows his emotions on the sideline.

Kruger is .610 overall as well...agree he’s had more sweet 16 and final fours.

The craziest stat I heard is that Coach Kruger has only won 2 big 12 tournament games in his tenure here. I haven't looked it up, is that correct?

Given our Big 12 regular season record under Lon, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise.
