Can you guys just eliminate the OSU people? Honestly, I don't know what value they add to society as a whole and I am sure they add nothing to a message board.

OSU fans just cant help but come to a site called OUHOOPS. They just want so badly to be a Sooner. Its pathetic. Not as pathetic as Travis Ford. But close.

Sorry about my posts today. I just watched the Baylor game last night and heard Fords dad yelling in the background like an idiot all night and saw Fords little face acting like hes so angry and tough. Makes me sick. So glad hes the coach at OSU and hope he stays for 20 years.

Can't handle different views? And they wonder what's wrong with this country, even at a micro-level people tear each other apart. But, humanity and civil interaction aside, if you get rid of them you eliminate a ton of traffic/discussion on this board. Something it can always use. What a boring place this would be if we all agreed.

I can't say I'm in favor of that. The ones who post here are usually very respectful.

I don't know about the present, but I know in the past that the Mods on the OSU boards would ban an OU fan who is respectful but disagreeable, without blinking an eyelash. I can't say I'm in agreement with their trendsetting ways and have no interest in stooping to their level.

I post here because this board is an offshoot of the basketball board at the old OU Insiders, which was a great place to talk Big 12 hoops, not just OU.

The tenor of the board was always really civil compared to the dumpster fire that is most football-centric boards.

Of course, I enjoy spirited (but civil) debate and reading dissenting opinions.

Some people obviously don't.

i dont get what the aggots did?? what did i miss

This.

This isn't a good idea. It goes against the spirit of a message board. If someone, regardless of whether they are a fan of osu/ OU/whomever, is way out of line....then I'm all for banning that poster. But just because someone disagrees with you and they happen to be a fan of another team, doesn't necessitate a banning.

I don't want to see this board evolve into a "cult-like" board like texags where everyone is a robot and any criticism equates into someone being a "bad fan". I much prefer having other allegiances come over and talk hoops on this board. It broadens perspective and tends to help keep our extreme (on both ends) posters from lunacy or at least expose their agenda. Just my .02

I posted a response earlier in this thread, but I don't see it now (that happens to me pretty frequently here -- I wonder what's up), so I'll try again.

The vast majority of oswho fans who post here don't take part in the community, they don't post on non-oswho threads -- they merely police any and all oswho-related posts made by Sooner fans. That's their sole purpose in being here.

If they were truly interested in discussing college hoops in general or even Big 12 basketball, they wouldn't have all pulled a disappearing act when they lost to OU in Norman.

But they did -- every single one of them besides OSWhoJeff, who just last week was calling an OU fan an "idiot." Now he pretends to celebrate the board's civility, which is pretty rich. Had an OU fan behaved on an oswho board the way Jeff did here, he'd have been immediately booted, and every aggie fan knows it. They must be laughing up their orange sleeves at what they get away with here.

I don't need everyone to agree with me, but neither do I think this board benefits from the post policing of oswho fans. There's not a one of them I'd miss if they stopped posting, because there's no real value to their posts. It's all "Nuh-uh! Did not! What about the KU game? Smart went off in that one!"

Contrast that with Sawyer, an opposing fan who occasionally plays post cop but who also takes part in discussions that have nothing to do with Mizzou. The difference between Sawyer and the vast majority of aggie fans who hang out here is night and day.

Denversooner are you having a bad day? There is nothing wrong with letting any fan of any team post on this site. Asking admins to do this is plain silly.

I suspect a lot of you would be upset if I started banning people just because I thought they were annoying.

If this post was made in earnest, that is a bit disconcerting.

And, I haven't posted here much at all lately, but the idea that there have to be certain qualifiers about when (relative to certain games), in what threads, etc... That seems sort of odd. But, WHATEV.

LOL -- I was talking about boca... so, you know, if the shoe fits.

And if I occasionally get a little snippy, that's hardly my style. Go look through my posts. I'm clearly not trolling like, say, GIA Stout.

And what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? I don't really give a s**t nor do I care if OSU fans "get away" with more here than OU fans "get away" with on an OSU message board. LOL... like you think I'm just SO happy that I can "get away" with stuff here?

I've honestly never thought about it one way or another.

Because seriously. Who cares? These are MESSAGE BOARDS... do you really take them that seriously?

If just clicking on an OSU-related thread and seeing OSU fans (gasp!) comment about OSU really gets you so torqued up that you create a post crying to the admins to ban us, then maybe Internet message boards aren't your game...

Some of the OSU people are our best posters. I'd hate to be like the OSU boards who don't seem to admit OU fans.
