With the upcoming National Championship in softball I thought it would be interesting who the posters think are the best players over the years.
My choices
By position
P- Keilani Ricketts
c- Heather Scaglione
1b - Samantha Ricketts
3b - Shelby Pendley
ss - Kelli Braitsch
of - Norrelle Dickson
of - Amber Flores
of - Lauren Chamberlain
Note that I have not included a second baseman. I suppose Georgia Casey may be the best who played 2b the most but her career was marred by injuries. I would probably vote for Lisa Carey who may not have played the positon but she played shortstop and first base. Patti doesn't always play players where they may play the best but she plays them where she needs someone. Her players are usually athletic enought to play almost anywhere.
Other favorites of mine are Ashli Barrett, Michelle Gascogne Kami Keiter, Kristin Vesely Jessica Shults and last but not lease Brianna Turang who was so outstanding in our last world series win. There was also Lynette Velazquez who was another of our great power hitting first basemen.
