Sometimes graduation can be a coach's best friend. Turnover permitting a fresh start.

I wonder if Nicole K (just a sophomore), Manning (due to injury, again), Peyton Little (redshirting) to name a few deferred to last year's senior class.

It's going to be a such a young team, I wonder who will step up.

Strictly on opinion, and their past experience, I think the leadership will fall on Maddie, Sharane, and before the season is over Gabbi. This will be a totally different team in intensity and want to win attitude than last years.

I suspect that had Maddie been able to play, there would have been no leadership problem. That might be true with Peyton. From what I've seen of Ortiz, she is a natural leader. I've heard that Penzo fits that. Maddie seems to have the dominant personality and the attitude to take charge.

Maddie, Peyton, Ortiz, Sharane, Nicole K.....Can you have too many leaders/strong personalities/dominant players? It will all shake out, but it may take into tournnament time to do so. Not a bad problem to have assuming good will on the part of the players.

There is nothing shy about Maddie or Peyton but Kornet is the leader of the pack from what I can tell.

You are absolutely right, never have too many!!!!

There was an article in the Houston paper containing some excerpts of R. Bowen Loftin's (former Tex A&M Pres.)book about Tex A&M leaving for the SEC. One section deals with his firing of Mike Sherman the football coach. He said he ask Sherman to explain his 6-6 season. Sherman said they were young and had no senior leadership. Loftin said he knew then he had to go because he had had 4 years to develop senior leadership and had not done it so how long was it going to take him? Interesting observation!
