He's probably connected to ISU in some way, just like Bob Carpenter is connected to OU.
Random thought during a bad performance by the Sooners: I often find myself turning the sound down when the announcers are too annoying or obviously haven't done their homework (if an announcer seems surprised that Fitzgerald or Osby shoot jumpshots, the sound goes down automatically). We know that Nielsen Surveys etc measure how many people are watching broadcasts. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a way to survey how many people turn the sound down due to the quality of the broadcast team? My first thought was that it would be nice if the compensation of the announcer were linked to the number of people who actually heard his voice? My second thought was wouldn't it be nice if the people who hire the announcer get paid based on how many people don't turn the sound down?
