Baylor/OU TV?

Maddie and Gioya have something in common. Both wet our whistle (Gioya moreso than Maddie) by good play for a brief period of time then both disappeared. In the last 2 games combined, Maddie has played a total of 10 minutes. Gioya has dropped off dramatically as well. The question is, will either one get it back or is this what we can expect the rest of the season? Getting Gioya back to playing well is critical. Getting Maddie back playing better would really be nice.

Would also like to Add, our posts are soft. We a very run and gun/ offensive oriented- Sherri needs to toughen them up, or they can take a seat. We are a soft team otherwise, and vulnerable to anyone that wants to get rough.

She recruited these players. The freshmen, it will take time and if she wants them to play harder she should get someone coaching them this. And maybe she does I don't know. It just isn't all on the players. NOW, as for Kay Kay, I have always thought she would be really good. She got hurt, sat out a year, came back and the rules had tightened up on some fouls and it hurt her play. Not saying that was all of it, just saying a factor. THIS year, she should be playing much better. I truly believe she has the ability. Maybe there is no way of putting the fire into her......which says nothing bad about her nor Sherri. If that is not her make-up, it just isn't, if she wants to play bad enough then Sherri makes it be part of her game or she sits her or really restricts her minutes.

All a little more complex than can be addressed on a board and that is something the players, coaches, and staff would know.....though really even they can't understand and communicate it 100 percent in their small world. Individuals don't know themselves so how do they let someone else know them completely.

Good point, they can both make those types of plays that are exciting, make other players better and get the team going. I thought Maddie probably should have gotten minutes against KSU but believed maybe Sherri thought this was a good time to give Nicole a shot. So I am not sure Maddie has had the minutes to get going. Gioya had mostly, until Baylor, done other things though she was not scoring. (think there was another game in there that she only did a little more than she did at Baylor) To me, Gioya has lost her confidence, Maddie I just don't think has had the minutes for whatever reason. Believe Maddie playing better is easier to expect than Gioya because she does not seem as stressed. (I know, a LOT of speculation about players I don't even know...(sheepish smile inserted here).

I suspect Maddie is making too many mistakes in practice; otherwise, I think Sherri would trust her with a few more minutes.

I realize we have an athletic upgrade inside from last year but I never thought of Nicole as soft. She was a bit slow, couldn't really jump, and was a nightmare to throw it in to but she worked as hard as anyone and wasn't afraid to stick her nose in there. Doesn't help us now but it's frustrating when talented players seem to shy away from the game.

I wonder if one of the reasons Kay Kay may appear to some of you to be "soft" is she is hesitating for fear of fouling. I have seen her take enough charges that I wouldn't have wanted to take, even back in the day when I could have gotten up again without help, that I've never thought of her as soft.

When I say soft, I mean lack of aggression. I don't see Kay Kay as being driven and determined.

I kinda agree. When she is aggressive we see how important she can be. It appears to be difficult to get that determination out on the court sometimes.

I agree with Syb on this one. Unless, of course, I didn't disagree with him earlier in the thread. In that case, I'm glad Syb came around to my way of thinking....er, you know what I mean.
