Bedlam women's basketball at 8 pm Monday

Great game, girls!!!! Keep it up !!!! It was nice to see Coach up and coaching......Precious memories!!! Looks like they all WANT to win !!! I LOVE IT !!!!

If you're sad we won the game, that is the behavior of a narcissistic moron. Those players, most of them freshmen and sophomores who've never experienced this type of adversity on the court, are playing their butts off and trying to get better. And you're hoping they fail, and you call yourself a fan. Seriously?

I've got news for some of you. We have a Hall of Fame coach who is a fantastic basketball coach and wonderful leader. She will get this figured out and turned around. It might not be on your timetable, but it will happen.

Get over yourselves. My word.

Anna Llanusa is big time. Great game. Sherri has the right starting five. Now we need for some of the subs to step it up. Lampkin had some good stretches tonight. fOSU was pretty bad shooting. It is a good accomplishment that we are now better than they are. That is not saying a lot but it is something.

If we could finish with at least two more victories we would have momentum going into next year.

Oklahoma 55 Oklahoma State 35

Rebounds. Llanusa 14 Williams 11

Nice game tonight. Our team has played hard all year, but finally getting in sync a little better, and know mostly what to do, and where to go. Mandy Simpson so smart and plays so hard. Murcer, Williams, and Lampkin all have improved a lot this year. Robertson finally getting open looks and knocking them down. And Ana Llanusa is becoming a star. We are getting better as a team and as individuals.

Go sooners!

Some of the nice things I saw tonight:

Taylor R. Driving to the basket several times. She was moving a lot and not just standing on the wing.

Jessi, really taking control on the floor. I thought she had a really good game.

Ana driving repeatedly.

We played a lot of man defense tonight and played it pretty well.

Williams and Ana had 25 rebounds between them. That is really something.

Reviewing this game and looking at the stats, it may actually be the most complete game the ladies have played this year.

Yes, OSU shot poorly, but that was at least partially because we were playing tough defense.

Looking forward to the next game.

I didn't see the West Virginia game but this is the best game I have seen this year.

Ana the difference maker. Is playing with so much confidence now.

Murcer developing into a quality point. Still making freshman mistakes but really playing well.

We had a bad stretch when Maddi began to force it inside but otherwise she was solid.

Taylor still not getting open enough. We hardly ever screen for on out of bounds plays. Got her open on a downscreen for a trey. Second time I have seen that all year. The way they are playing her tight the downscreens are probably the best way to get her open.

Good job most of the game controlling Gray.

Lampkin seemed out of sync in the first half but had some good moments in the second. Needs to get more of Simpsons minutes. Thought Mandy looked tired the second half.

Thanks for calling me a moron, nice take and quality human being you must be NOT. I assumed that several of you all sunshine pumpers would trash talk me, very predictable. I have NEVER been against any of the players, although IF you pumpers are honest you will admit that many of them are not on the level needed to compete in the Big-12 (bet you aren’t though), as I support anyone who comes to my alma mater. SK, I have supported this team for 15+ years with my money and attendance and in ways most on this board never have so you have NO idea what you are talking about when you question me being a fan. We have a coach who WAS a Hall of Fame coach but for 8 years has been a HAS BEEN - she quit caring and coaching and recruiting many years ago and has been taking it easy for many years. Most that look at the state of our program with open eyes agree as well. Or you can continue saying “but years ago she went to the final four and won Big-12 championships and blah blah blah”, which I’m confident you and Syb sand the others who came after me for simply my opinion will.
So take your little pettiness and go on down the road as your junior high behavior doesn’t effect me- by the way for adults it’s called a discussion and there can be 2 or more opinions and sides of the discussion LOL.
Go talk to your mommy now :ez-laugh:

I didn't say you were a moron. I said you were behaving like one. Rooting for your team "to fail" is the real adolescent behavior here.

I would love for you to go into the locker room after the game as a "fan" and a "supporter" and look that team in the eye and tell them you were "sad" they lost. Oh my word. Seriously? Oh, but you've been a fan for 15 years. I'm sure they would understand you really have their best interest at heart.

I'm loving the fact that we are so much shorter than other teams yet are outrebounding them, or being very competitive with them in that aspect. Anna has just stepped it up her sophomore season, couldn't be more proud of her and she will be robbed if she does not make all-conference. Really happy with mercer at our point right now. Just imagine, she should be better next season plus have more threats offensively to pass to!

I liked the fact that all of our starting 5 were scoring well. I now am looking forward to every game. Not so, earlier.

Mercer is great scrapping for the ball.

Stay with it Sooner81, I don't always agree with you but I enjoy your posts. I don't mind at all that you wanted OU to lose in order to hasten a coaching change, but I just can't root against the Sooners. It is not the same though, as the John Blake situation. I remember worrying about that final Tech game, fearing that if we won it we would keep Blake. Well, we won it and said goodbye Blake anyway.

Congrats on the win! Recap here...

Ana Llanusa scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds Monday night to lift the Oklahoma women’s basketball team to a 75-66 win over rival Oklahoma State in a Bedlam showdown at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

Llanusa was 9-for-9 from the free-throw line to help the Sooners improve to 8-19 on the season, and 4-12 in the Big 12. Oklahoma State, which dropped to 14-13 overall and 5-11 in the Big 12, was led by Vivian Gray’s 17 points.

The Sooners led 18-10 after one quarter, and still held a 55-50 advantage after three periods before extending the lead in the final quarter.

Well you were very wrong, nice crowd.

I was at the game and yes it was a nice crowd for this year's Sooner team but my friend and I both guessed the crowd to be 1,000-1,200 to 1,500 max. LNC was at least 85+% vacant when you factor both the lower and upper arena and the listed capacity is 11,528. The east side was about 40% occupied max, the west side less than 5% and the south and north ends basically vacant. My seats are on the west side and the east side had roughly 3 times as many fans as the norm in recent games when there were less than 500 at the games.

The box score indicated 4,060 tickets sold vs a season average 3,639. So the Sooners sold about 400 more tickets than they have been averaging and I would guess that at least 500 typical unused corporate ticket were used last night. If those estimates are close we did have about 900 more than we have been averaging which I think was very good support for the girls.

I'll stand by my estimate that less than 2,000 were in attendance. rocjunkie and Oliver Hardy were both there if things are normal. Perhaps they have some imput as none of us fans are attendance estimate experts.

My guess on attendance was about 2500. But I am not skilled at crowd size guessing.
