I think Courtney has to be recognized as the best freshman that OU has ever had. When you have 21.9 ppg, 14.8 rpg, and shoot 61.4% on your way to a first team All-American status as a freshman, you would think that's about all you can do as a freshman.
I think Whitney Hand was the second best freshman that OU has had. She had a lot of what we see in the hands of Maddie and Peyton as well as a nice shot that was smooth and pretty accurate. She was the shot that we needed to get us to the Final Four.
I think Gabbi Ortiz may prove to be OU's third best freshman by the time the year is over. She will have started every game (only she and Sharane have done that), and she is becoming the steady ball-handler that we sought when we recruited her. The mistakes are becoming fewer and fewer. Now, she is letting her shot go, and she is hitting it from everywhere. She is also a strong defender and rebounder because she hustles after every ball. It seemst hat loose balls always find Gabbi, Peyton, or Maddie.
