Local Houston billionaire Tillman Fertitta just donated $20 million towards a renovation of Hofeinz Arena (basketball). Tillman is sole owner of Landry Inc, and their umbrella of restaurants, and several hotels and casinos. Fertitta is also the President of the U of H Board of Regents, and is leading the initiative to get them admitted to the B12. The guy is relentless.

The mock-up looks great. State of the art. Kelvin may have fallen into a dream job. The talent in the Houston area is incredible (6.5 million population). If he has the the prestige of a power 5 conference, Kelvin can have a great team with just a couple of the top 10 players in the area every year.

He might have been better advised to spend $20M on Cougar High academics. What a waste! Typical texans.

they didnt say he provided the sole source of revenue.

True. I think the total cost of the renovation is $60 million, so he donated a third. They're actually renaming it the Fertitta Center.
