How about Cameron Clark. It appears that he has put on some good weight, retooled his shot, and has been setting the tone on defense. He is the highest rated player on this roster per the high school rankings. Many on here (myself included) assumed that his role would be marginalized this year with M'Baye and the new guards.

I'm glad to see that Cam disagrees and is working to prove us wrong.

I agree. And I also think that M'Baye's major role was always going to be determined by who turned out to be the weakest link. Fitz or Cam. Based on last season I was pretty sure it would be Cam. This year I'm pretty sure I was wrong.

To me, it would be HUGE if he can come out a new player. He doesn't have to be great on offense, just adequate. But if he can bring the defense, I think our team just "fits" better if he can start all season and play well. Lets us bring Hield and another frosh off the bench. Let's M'Baye start inside, with Fitz relieving both he and Osby.

Hopefully he is more calm this year too. Seems like Cam has had trouble finding ways to be aggressive WITHIN the flow of the offense. He is either passive, or way too aggressive.

Something I failed to realize last year is that Clark was actually a pretty respectable shooter as a freshman and just horrible as a sophomore. Cam shot .373 from 3 as a freshman. That is a perfectly acceptable shooting percentage. Perhaps his sophomore year was a fluke and he will shoot as well or better than his freshman year this season. I am hoping to see Cam shoot a higher percentage, increase his scoring average to more than 10 points a game, increase his rebounding average to above 5 per game and be a defensive force. I think that is very possible.

Right now I feel pretty good about OU's top 6 players. I am confident that Neal can give some solid minutes and I am hopeful he will be able to come off the bench and score a little more this year. I think OU needs one of the freshman to step up and make a 10+ minute a game contirbution that is more productive than Neal. If OU gets that, I think OU will be a good basketball team.
