Brittney Martin walked away from basketball

Brittany was, indeed, the Player of the Year in the conference, and it was merited. She used her abilities to create shots more effectively than anyone else in the conference. I thought she looked like she was having fun. So, that aspect is somewhat of a surprise to me.

You can never be sure how someone's skills will be translated at the next level. Would she be as effective as a pro? Probably not. I think she could have played and contributed, but there are a lot of players in the pros who can do what she does, only they are taller and faster. I don't know that she would have been a star. I do think she would have at least been a valuable person off the bench.

She played like someone who was in love with the game. I guess that was a last hurrah.

Great college player!

She is an assistant over a Texas tech now. I talked to coach Whitiker last week and she told me that she is over there and she's helping mentor a lot of the young ladies. Happy for her and the others that she is able to help teach.

Martin impressed me whenever she gave media interviews, and I was also impressed with the way she interacted with fans. In addition to being a very good college player, she seems like a genuinely nice young lady.
