I know we have some insiders and recruiting gurus on this site, do we have a timeline for Bryce's decision?

I assume it is still in the early signing period?

Seems like OU has done everything they can do at this point and if he chooses to go elsewhere, then I wish him good luck, but, really hoping he select the Sooners!

His ability to shoot and push the ball would fit in great with the current squad.

I am definitely NOT a recruiting insider, but I know I heard Lon say in a recent interview that they hope and expect to have the 2020 class wrapped up in the early period. And it seems like I read a fairly recent interview where Bryce and/or his dad said that he hopes to decide in the early period.

I like your attitude on this, by the way. As an OU fan, I'll be very disappointed if he chooses to go elsewhere, but hope no one will bash the kid if he does. Ultimately he has to make whatever choice he thinks is best for him when considering all the factors.

he has a camp this week (usa I think)

Official OU visit the following week. OU needs to push him hard. Family is on board, Bryce has UNC/MJ in his eyes right now.

They are trying to roll out the carpet next week, Id guess several former players will try to be there.

Shortly after our visit, he is suppose to announce.

A blue blood like UNC is always tough to beat. But, the timing of our visit feels good to me. We also have an assumed advantage or two in Pooh Williamson and Bryce’s high school teammate, Trey Phipps. More importantly, perhaps, I think our coaches have done everything they can to keep Bryce home.

Will it be enough? I like our chances. But I will continue to bite my fingernails until he signs on the dotted line.

At this time. I don’t feel confident. But I know the coaches do.

Bryce can make the NBA just as easy, if not faster, at a place like OU than a place like NC. We have more than proven that already.

I'm not sure anyone is disputing that. Although suggesting it can happen faster might be a stretch seeing as how UNC puts underclassman in the NBA on an annual basis. In any event, I highly doubt that he questions whether he can make his way from Norman to the NBA.

UNC is my 2nd favorite team & I have to agree they sometimes delay the 1 & dones. They’re offense takes time to fully understand & RW has no problem not playing highly touted players if they aren’t there yet. Look at Nassir Little, Seventh Woods, Justin Jackson, James Macadoo etc. There are exceptions (Coby White) but generally speaking that’s the case.

Ku still a problem.

I think a lot depends on fbi/ncaa penalty.

1. Ku 2. Ou

As of tonight.

If it depends on the NCAA penalty, Bryce won’t be signing in the early period. There will not be a resolution on that matter until late next spring, and it could be longer.

Bill Self’s stall tactics are still alive and well in Larryville! He’ll skate through one more season toward another Big 12 championship. By then, he will be ready to wave goodbye to college basketball as he rides off to the NBA where he will be free to thumb his nose at NCAA rules for the remainder of his coaching career. Not that he’s not doing that now (see his recent Adidas t-shirt, gold chain video). It’s that, as an NBA coach, he won’t have to lie his ass off and pretend anymore.

This just shows how quickly things change in recruiting. It's why I try not to get too worked up on a day-to-day basis. Kids will go back and forth, and understandably so given how important a decision it is for their future. From everything we have heard from our best sources, the one thing that is clear is that we are very much in the mix and will have our chance to make a strong final push next week. That's a good spot to be in when you are battling two of the elite programs in the country for a kid. We just have to hope the official goes well and he decides Norman is his best fit.

I hope the kid is totally happy his entire career on his choice, with no 2nd thoughts. Although I hope he comes here playing for the state team, we'll be okay if he doesn't, this isn't a Capel plan.

I feel really good about where we are guard-wise the next 2 years. So if he doesn't want to be a Sooner, fine. Especially if he has his sights on 1and done.

If he were 6'10" I'd be a lot more disappointed if he went elsewhere.

I wish the practice was after the football game -- they'd draw more fans then, wouldn't they?
