Bryce Thompson timeline?

Thanks Rayford!

I'm guessing a two horse race.

Brandon Drumm from OU Insider had a video interview with 2022 5-star Gentry Williams from BTW after their football game last Friday. Gentry and Bryce are friends and both go BTW. Brandon asked Gentry where Bryce was going to go, and he said North Carolina. He later said NC, KU, and OU were the final 3.

Man, this will be a stressful announcement. By the time Trae announced, I was pretty comfortable that he was going to choose OU, but this is much less certain. Let's hope we close strong and get him. I don't know how much it matters to him, but this is where the lack of fan support can't help. If he were attending KU's home opener, no matter who they were playing, he would be watching 16,000+ passionate fans support their team, but tonight, he will be in an arena that is probably half empty and very quiet. I hope we can overcome that and get him nonetheless!!

That is a concern.

We need renovations like GIA. but i know im wasting internet space on that.

Half empty would be a good thing. I think it will be closer to 80% empty. This is why I'm starting to think it will be a long time before we compete at top of the conference again. KU and Tech fans support basketball. Sooner fans do not.

Ku basketball is like OU football...

I’ve always said that. Great programs get great players... just natural consequence.

I’ve been to Allen FH...if I were s basketball recruit it’s a magical place to play no doubt.

Still hate the hawks...and damn they look really smooth tonight

The ESPN tracker showed that the Pokes landed Cunningham, the #2 high school player in America...it would be scary if they landed Thompson as well. As for the OU crowd, I’m not sure that will have as much an impact as Rayford Young telling him the truth - that he did not want his son to go to OU, but that he is probably much further along in his NBA career because he did (where he had more autonomy than he would have had at KU or UK).

He did... but I also get the feeling he’s enjoying the attention. No way he wasn’t aware Cunningham was going to OSU.

Some are assuming Bryce's tweet was because of Cunningham to OSU, but I got to think that was already speculated with his brother there. Aggroids are flipping because they think they're getting Bryce.

But could his tweet be in response to Puff Johnson committing to UNC tonight? He is a top 50 4 star wing from AZ and boosts UNCs class to #2, and their 5th commit. We're all thinking Cunningham, but could the tweet be because of Johnson?

Or as is my guess, is he is just trolling and getting a laugh out of the attention.

Thompson fits in so much better with this OU team than he does with an osu with that 1 and done PG that will be all about showcasing himself for the league next season. Just my opinion.

Man, I wish OU would hire a coach who had an infectious recruiting style, like Boynton seems to have. Even though they have not been good recently, OSU still has good players. You take Lon's game prep with Boynton's recruiting, you'd have something.

I just hope OU doesn't lose out on Thompson, because they have put ALL their eggs in that basket. They miss on him, and OU has nowhere to turn. Meanwhile, OSU is killing it on the trail this year.

Boynton got Cunningham because he hired his brother as an assistant coach. He hired his brother to get Cunningham. It’s as simple as that.
