Buddy is the leading scorer in Big XII games at 22.4 ppg. He is seventh in rebounding with 7 per game. He is third in field goal percentage! 6th in free throw percentage, 13th in steals! 2nd in three point shooting percentage and, 1st in three pointers made.

He might be on pace for player of the year. His rebounding is fantastic.

He's dominating the conference. Such a shame we lost to KSU when he went for 31. Big mistake not riding him down the stretch.

I like how he has started his penetration moves at the top of the key and looks to pass when the defense collapse on him, like the the dish to Spangs and Woodard.

Hield Earns Second Big 12 POW Award
January 19, 2015

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma junior guard Buddy Hield has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week for the second time this season following his performances in games against West Virginia and Oklahoma State.

The 6-4, 212-pounder from Freeport, Bahamas, averaged 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists at No. 16 West Virginia and vs. No. 24 Oklahoma State. He shot 69.6 percent from the field (16 for 23) and 63.6 percent from 3-point range (7 for 11) in the two games.

Hield scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds in an 86-65 loss at West Virginia on Tuesday. He followed with an extremely efficient performance in an 82-65 home win over Oklahoma State on Saturday. Against the Cowboys, Hield tied a Big 12 record (in conference play) by going 10 for 10 from the field. He fell one make shy of tying the school record for makes without a miss set by Alvan Adams in the 1973-74 season. Hield went 4 for 4 from 3-point range against the Cowboys and finished with a game-high 27 points to go along with five boards, two assists and two steals as the Sooners posted their 11th straight Bedlam home win. With less than a minute left in the first half, Hield had as many points (18) as OSU did.

Hield, who was also named Big 12 Player of the Week on Nov. 17, has scored at least 20 points in four of five Big 12 outings and paced the team with 13 points in the other (at Texas). He has led OU in scoring in each of the last four outings and in five of the last six. In Big 12 play, he leads the league with his 22.4 points and 3.4 3-pointers a game, ranks second in 3-point field goal percentage (.486), third in field goal percentage (.552), sixth in free throw percentage (.840) and seventh in rebounding (7.0 rpg; tops among conference guards).

Kansas’ Kelly Oubre was named the league's newcomer of the week.

The 18th-ranked Sooners play at No. 9 Kansas tonight at 8 CT. The game will be televised by ESPN.

After last night he is up to 23 ppg. I am sure he would much rather have the win but he is having a good season, especially in conference play.

When he is on, he is everything that is awesome about college basketball.

Not that it is important, but where are you guys getting his PPG? I'm seeing that he is in 1st in the Big12, but at 18.1 PPG?

He's the conference player of the year right now. He's been spectacular.
