Well, I guess all the debate centering around Capel being blackballed by AAU coaches is now a non-topic. If those who were saying he was being blackballed are correct, doesn't it stand to reason that we'll suddenly land a number of great prospects in Texas, now that he's gone? I sure hope they're right! :p We need to sign a number of them.

By the way, I've heard interesting talk down here that Kyan Anderson may be opening his recruitment now that Providence has fired Keno. He would be an upgrade from Blair. Only real downside is his size.

Correct me if I am wrong but Anderson is a score first point correct? Didn't he drop 40 this year to break Willie Warren's single game record at North Crowley.

The one time I saw him this summer he seemed similar to Cezar Guerrero in game. Both are smaller PGs who are quick and look to score. Anderson isn't as flashy though.

I hope we start attacking in Texas. Capel tried early, they just did not like him. Sampson hated AAU and would never try with the Texas AAU teams. I think it would be a plus if our coach can successfully recruit AAU in Texas.

Kyan is definitely a scoring PG, however, he can run a team when asked to. He's rarely played with sufficient talent to be a true "pass first" PG. As I said before, the only issue I have with him being a large-conference impact player is his lack of size and strength. His game and his explosiveness are there.

As for recruiting AAU ranks, I believe a quality assistant with the right network and work ethic are the key. Head coaches are a deal closer for the most part, and in most cases.

With all the growth in Dallas and people moving in from other areas of the country high school basketball has really gotten allot better in N. Texas.
