Chris Beard gets a new 6 year contract

Chris Beard has gotten a 6 year contract with Texas Tech, that will pay him at least $3.1m a year plus bonuses. This would put him equal to Lon Kruger and Shaka Smart for 4th most in the conference.

I can't imagine how upset multiple users on here would be if OU did that after 1 decent year. I mean hell, we have threads on here asking if Kruger should go or not

FWIW, they almost have to gamble. I'm sure Louisville would be very interested in Beard, whether they should be or not.

I was thinking Indiana would come after Beard.... Bob Knight connection, terrific results at Arkansas State and Texas Tech... Spent 7 seasons learning how to coach under Bob Knight.

Indiana was 16-15 this year... 18-16 the year before that... However there coach has only been there a year and Beard is more of a Texas guy and doesn't have any roots there.
