Conference Schedules

During one of the recent game broadcasts it was mentioned that Missouri would be our only home and home games this year. We would only play every other team one time. I didn't pay much attention when the game schedules for a 16 team league were being discussed earlier. Is this going to be the way the conference games are going to work out in future years or is it just for the first two years?

As I recall from this summer, there is no commitment for staying at 16 games even next year. I would guess it is the coaches that influence how many conference games...so the weaker teams (and Mulkey) like 16 games so they can schedule a couple of more wins/practice games in November/December and South Carolina likes to have more non conference games and schedule plenty of big match ups. As long as there is no detriment to getting lots of teams in the tournament I would guess it will stay at 16 games rather than 18.
