Won the Summit League Tournament 75-72.....and headed to Indianapolis. They had a 25 point halftime lead and tried their best to blow it....but the W is all that matters. Good for them.

Man I knew they were setting themselves up for a letdown. It's about time their program was able to make it to the next level. Abmas for ORU is the leading scorer in division 1 basketball.

I was watching them in the semis and was remembering Richard Fuqua. Their last great scorer.

What about Anthony Roberts?

Anthony Roberts was perhaps the last true “playground legend” in the state. He obviously advanced past the playgrounds, but that term is a figure of speech. Roberts was a legend and tales of his accomplishments spread by word of mouth long before the days of Twitter and YouTube. For anyone that isn’t aware, I’d suggest doing a google search. If you think I’m exaggerating; take note that his senior year, he averaged 34 points per game!

I grew up at 87th/Harvard in Tulsa which is just over a mile from the Mabee Center. Went to all sorts of events there as a kid including yearly trips to the HS basketball final. It’s been well over 20 years since I’ve been inside so no clue if these still exist, but they used to have these painted murals of their best players and I always remember stopping to look at/read the one for Roberts.

If Tulsa hadn't stunk, we could have had 4 state schools in the Dance! Doesn't happen very often.

ORU better hope Abmas doesn’t bounce!
