Well earned and much deserved!

I thought Gabby deserved honorable mention, at least.

Definitely!!! Gabby should have gotten some award.....Not happy she got snubbed.....

I am happy for the young women that they have done better than expected and I commend them.

However I do not plan to buy season tickets to watch another losing or mediocre season. If I were a highly talented player at OU I would check the transfer portal to see if I could get on a team that had a chance to challenge for a conference championship, get into the NCAA tournament or get ranked nationally. I think they have very little chance of doing that at OU.

I would like to be wrong on this but I do not see enough positives to believe that can happen next year.

Probably no one is going to be giving Baylor much of a challenge next year as far as the conference championship. But this team was better this year. And they did it with seven players. I have to think this is the influence of Stiles and Paris. You may not want to attend in person, but I think next year should be interesting to watch.

Congrats to all of them because they really did a great job through a lot of adversity. One of the toughest teams I can remember. Gabby, Maddie and Taylor put this team on their backs and wouldn’t let them quit. I wasn’t sure they would win a conference game before the season started, but they got better and have been a lot of fun to watch this last month.

Agreed, for the most part. Next year might be slightly more interesting than this year, but not national top 25 contenders. More "interesting" games, but not FF bound. They will not be able to finish a season in the conference (forget national anything) top 3 without more height and assertiveness in the post. Hopefully, CParis will work with the post players on avoiding fouls; the mental and physical aspects...help them improve their game time IQ...adjusting to officials calls, getting into the minds of their opponent, etc. I don't think CParis fouled out much during her years. JStiles can clearly help with the guards and has probably had something to do with TRobertson being more confident about getting to the basket to compliment the 3 point accuracy. She's been drawing some fouls and basically a no miss from the line. The injuries and COVID issues allowed others that we had not seen much of to get some minutes and what did they have to lose? I believe CParis had some heart to heart chats with this team. She's the only one of the staff that has been exactly where they have been before. They look like they were having fun for a change after many years.

IMHO, I don't think the top level player recruiting in OK and bordering states (or CA) will improve until it's a post SC team (and take junior with her). With all the so called respect she has in women's basketball, how come she has not called in a favor to get junior some coaching experience outside of OU WBB? Surely someone has told her it's not a good look, but more than likely she doesn't care. Alot of things (nepotism, lack of staff diversity, transfers, poor recruiting, poor development, no camps...) in the program have not been a good look! And it's counter productive for the overall success of the program. But as they say, "money talks and bs walks"! The powers are clearly content with mediocrity!

I just said next year will be interesting to watch. We are a long ways away from a conference championship, much less a final four. If that is the criteria for watching a team, then one needs to move on to watching the handful of teams that are capable of doing that. But I am an OU fan and I'm not going to walk away because I believe the coach needs to go or they aren't going to win a championship. Getting to championship level won't be done in one or two years no matter how they recruit. OU improved this year and I am looking forward to seeing what they can do with a deeper bench.

To each its own. SC was the one who stated her goal was a NC every year. Maybe it changed and she forgot to publicly state it. I still watch every now and again..lots of mediocre/less competitive games to pick from, but I do not support as I did previously based on the overall lack of effective leadership by SC.

Sherri has not made the statement the team goal was a NC in over a decade. For certain she is smart enough not to set those unfounded expectations on her team. Nor will she ever publicly acknowledge their team expectation/goals are to finish in the upper division of the conference. But expectations need to be realistically achievable.

Neither has she stated that times have clearly changed and a NC, FF or ranking in the top 5 of the conference is beyond her goals. None of those will be achieved at OU again without players that can matchup and compete with the height and strength in the post of other teams. osu in last night's game is a prime example. Add a coach that can adjust game time strategies, keep the players settled down yet continuing to fight, and allow them to fight through momentary slumps...OU can not consistently overcome it to become a top conference, let alone national contender. Some fans like mediocre programs. If so, there are plenty a seat available at the LNC.

I go to a thread congratulating the girls who got honors from the conference and sure enough a couple of douches have turned it into a Sherri Coale thread. Well played guys.

I wanted to praise the young women but I am not doing it without expressing my reservations about the state of the program.

I do not see any reason why threads cannot go where they go. I do not think it is off topic to get into a discussion of the problems wit the program. Until they show the program has really turned around you can expect that these negative comments are going to be made.
