Good game. Texas jumped out to a ten-point lead early as McCarty and Atkins hit a pair of threes each. They were both outstanding throughout. But, UConn crept back into it, taking a lead just before halftime (one point). Texas was more physical, probably more athletic. They dominated the boards early. But, Texas only got one more three. They fought it out like the two heavyweights they are, the winner emerging by hitting their free throws, 17 of 19 as compared to 8 of 14.
