Depaul vs. Pokes

It's a down-year in the state of Oklahoma this year (hoops-wise). OSU is a NIT team, Tulsa isn't that good, ORU is awful and we know about OU.

YEP, 4 games into the season and we already know everyones season will go

OSU should have lost this game. 27 TO's and Keiton shooting like crap. This may have been the worst I have ever seen OSU play and still win. That said it is still a win. 4-0

This. Worst I've seen a Ford team play in his three years, a loss to lowly Depaul would have been UGLY. But, now it's just a win in the books.

Really weak point guard play.

Seriously? You can most assuredly get a feel for a team through 4 games. Especially if you've watched enough basketball and played your entire life.

So you have watched all 4 of OSU's games? Not just this one?

Oh hell no I haven't and I doubt the other 3 were even on TV. That would be like getting waterboarded. I've seen enough to tell me they don't have much offense this year. Since you're a poke, please enlighten me to who is going to provide the scoring outside of Page and/or Moses?...Penn is capable of 7-12...I really like Olukemi's versatility/athleticism...Who's able to shoot outside of Page?

Do you think OSU is a NCAA tourney team?

As I said earlier on another thread, we will have a tough time scoring this year. The ball needs to go through Moses everytime down the court. Run your offense through the post.

Unfortunately for us the ball didn't make it past midcourt countless times today.

D. Williams is a really nice player. Olukemi, Penn and Pilgrim are able to score some. I'm not going to go out on a huge limb, but I wouldn't count them out till they start losing.

What gave anyone the idea that DePaul was even decent?

They won 8 games last year and lost to Western Carolina before losing to Oklahoma State. They're horrible.

Things change. Depaul would beat OU easily. Horrible isn't the word that describes the Blue Demons this year. Go with the word improving.

OSU has a lot of work to do this season. The talent is there, but we hardly look like a team yet. Unless we make some significant improvement, we won't do very well in Big 12 play.

They lost to freakin' Western Carolina.

I'll stick with horrible.

good for OSU

I hope they have a solid season

They haven't played together, too early to make this assertion. I do think Penn is a little more hyped than he should have been. However, they have depth in the post. The suprising thing about OSU is the weak guard play in general.

I actually see potential in this team.

They have the look, to me, of a team that just hasn't quite put it together because everyone's roles haven't been defined.

We have enough quality in the post for me to think that this has the potential to be a fringe NCAA tournament team.

The key will be Ray Penn. He needs to pick it up and play like he was last year late in the non-conference and into conference play.
