OU will make it to the NCAA tournament this year because

or

OU will not make it to the NCAA tournament this year because

I'll post mine in a bit...

Will, because of more balanced scoring, depth, better perimeter defense.

I don’t know if OU will make it to the NCAA tournament this year because there are too many unknowns.

Will a “newcomer” like Amath M’Baye become the team’s best player and be a difference-maker?

Will a true team leader step up? Who will that be?

Will point guard play be improved on offense and defense?

In the final minute of tight games, will OU have a “go-to” guy they can count on?

Will someone like Osby or Clark show tremendous growth and improvement and become a consistently productive player?

Will the new competition from the three freshmen guards result in improved guard play in the games?

Big question: Can the Sooners win 10, 11 or 12 conference games?

It's just too early to know – at least for me. Some of our more knowledgeable posters can probably tackle that question. I do know that I can't wait to find out.

will, because of more scoring option, more depth, and more leadership

Will not because bigtime lost his wig.

no, we placed BigTime's wig into a bio-hazard facility, which is where it belongs after it's use... but if BT ever wants another go, we always keep an honorary red wig for his sake

OU will make it to the NCAA Tournament because they now have a complete roster and are more athletic in the front-court than any other team in the Big 12. Cameron Clark, Romero Osby, and Amath Mbaye will be the most athletic front-court in the Big 12 and they can all run the floor which suits Grooms very well.

PG: Sam Grooms
SG: Steven Pledger
SF: Cameron Clark
PF: Romero Osby
C: Amath Mbaye

On top of overall athletic ability, Osby and Mbaye are both skilled and can step out and shoot very well, and both are good rebounders. This front-court could be better than the Bookout-Gray combo.

Also, OU has a fantastic 3pt shooter to stretch the floor and score with Steven Pledger.

It's a pretty complete team that will be tough to guard, and should be tough on the glass as well.

OU will make it to the NCAA tournament this year because:

Romero Osby, Steve Pledger and Amath Mbaye will not give the other guys a choice.

OU will because we add top on the line talent (M'baye) and very good depth

OU will make it to the NCAA tournament this year because There's only one OKLAHOMA...

Oklahoma will make the NCAA Tournament becuase they are one the most experienced teams in the conference, have one of the best front courts in the conference, and now have depth in both the front court and backcourt.

OU has a big to come off the bench and socre. OU has three guards to come off the bench is Cousins, Heild and Hornbeak. OU also has Neal, Arent and Bennet. We know for a fact that Neal can make a respectable contribution and he should be improved this year. I truly believe one of the three guards will be a better addition to the team than Blair and that the other two at least give OU options and the ability to rest players.

Will not because I see us in the NIT. While we return most of our production from last year, that was production that finished 5-13 in conference and 15-16 overall. We still have roster issues from the previous regime that will hinder us from winning enough marquee games to make the NCAA tournament.

It sucks that the program is in this position, but that is my belief and I hope I am wrong.

what are the roster issues?

OU will make it to the NCAA tournament this year because I say so.

OU will make the NCAA Tourney this year, b/c we weren't that far off last year. We lead several games into the second half, only to be done in by a lack of depth, lack of experience, or cold shooting. Having a deeper, more talented/experienced team should help us turn some of those L's into W's.
