Effective IMMEDIATELY

Re: Lew Perkins retires effective immediately; interim AD and Bill Self to

"retires," lol.

But he's done so much for the bug eaters.

Cheno is already fundraising for the statue next to Naismith.

Ultimately, you'd have to think this will be a good thing for Kansas.

Lew was an ego guy and made some mistakes....but if I'm one of the other 9 teams in the Big 12 I'm happy today. Lew did a TON for KU in the fact of giving KU the resources to succeed. His fundraising, facilities upgrade and using his national prominence/power has given KU something they were lacking sorely. It's bitter sweet to me because yeah the dude made some mistakes but Big Lew got stuff done.

I feel bad for Lew. lol After that debacle on Saturday night, KU will be lucky to get an invite from C-USA. I bet the big man is laughing his arse off down in Florida.

Actually, he has.

I know really. It's funny how some people are so blinded that can't see reality. Like I said, this is a bad thing for the KU athletic department.
Fans of the rest of the Big 12 should be happy. Lew got things done.

You mean the new Mountain West Conference right. LOL

Isn't Nebraska the bugeaters?

I don't think you are missing anything. I think topcat was just making a joke that Lew Perkins has been good for Nebraska, and then campbest posted as if you say, "You joke, but there is a lot of truth in that." And then Cheno just got mixed up and thought the Bugeaters was a reference to Kansas. And then I was like, "Whaaaa?" And then you were all, "Yeah! Whaaa?" And then I posted this.

The dude just single handily crushed KU football to just another bottom feeder, which they were before him.

KU 3 - ND State 6 = :vitale

So is he fired for getting rid of the best KU football coach they had in years or for all the scandal he has had surrounding the basketball team?

Maybe it was the travel expense scandal? Or ignoring every sport on campus other than football and basketball?
