Most Irreplaceable?? At this stage in her development, TT is erratic IMO. She's a good on ball defender, but after that Im not seeing it yet. You could of course move Maddie back to the point, who is very talented at running it, but when small quick players get up under Maddie her handle gets a little loose. I notice the biggest drop off when Gabbi exits the game. Gabbi has really rounded out quickly, and is Steve Nash like with her Motor and ability to push the pace. Check records, has she ever competed in Marathons? I think she could run 3 today and play Saturday. Her effort and Motor, really speed up opposing offenses and make them play at a pace they are not comfortable at. Also, unbelievable at picking her spots when to score.

I think sometimes, she needs to learn to slow it down. Sherri likes to run, but our bread and butter is in the half court I believe. When Maddie and Gioya can create, or KK can catch it down low is who we are as an offense- We run well, were better in the half court. We get several dumb fouls due to the pace of the game sometimes, exhaustion will kill anyones feet and I think everyone suffers from it at different points. Learning when to push, when to hold bk is the last thing she needs I believe. But man, she can run that point. Maybe the most Irreplaceable player.

I'm going to leave this one alone since I think this is still a team in transition. I don't know that I would label an essential player since I think that the forte of this team is team rather than individual or group of individuals. I don't think I have yet seen the team that will play in April. It is a work in progress.

I actually think that TT has played really well since Big 12 play started. Sure Ortiz is more of an offensive weapon, and can shoot much better than TT, but I think TT does enough when Gabbi has to leave.
I was frustrated a couple times last night with TT. She had a couple of steals last night, with no one between her and the basket, and both times the Texas player caught up and stopped her from scoring. You have to be able to finish with opportunities like that.

I have erased all of the games off my Uverse tapes, but I seem to disagree with the scorekeepers about T'Ona. I keep coming out of my chair due to turnovers by Sharane and T'Ona, all of which seem to come at the wrong time, and seem to be really ill-advised. T'Ona has potential. But, I keep seeing her dribble into the middle with no place to go and no lane to pass out. I keep seeing her passively tossing a pass that the defense intercepts simply because she appeared to be thinking about something else other than a defender who might be able to get to that pass. Curiously, I thought last year that I would rather have T'Ona than Morgan with the ball at the end of a game. This year, she seems to have attention lapses.

Good things seem to be starting to happen a lot when Gabbi has the ball.

I think Gabbi makes fewer bad decisions with the ball than any PG we've had in a long time. (And she's only a freshmen):woot

The decisions made by our Gabbi and Peyton are really helping the team. Fewer turnovers always help, and the whole team is getting better, but they still have room for improvement.

I agree! In my opinion Gabbi and Peyton probably have the highest basketball IQs on the team. Both are miles ahead of where they were early in the season. Gioya has the most natural ability on the team and her high-arching shot is a thing of beauty.
