The team is coached by Dawn Staley. They are in Spain and play their first game today.

Wilson dominated the game which isn't surprising. She was the best thing that S. Carolina had once she got rolling. She is one of the top five or so in college. Lauren Cox hardly played.

I'd like to see the stats. I don't think Gabbi took one shot, and she is probably the best shooter on the team. The rest of them can't shoot at all. They won by 15 over Spain. A'Ja Wilson of South Carolina was by far the best interior player. I don't know if it was due to a year of college, although she showed more potential last year than I saw from anyone on the court today. Gabbi was about the only guard that could handle the ball. Dangerfield may be a junior before she hits her first free throw if she shoots like she did today. Patberg loves to shoot, but I don't know that I ever saw a shot that got near the inside of a rim, several air balls. White kept throwing up layups that hit the side of the backboard.

Wilson has made a lot of progress. Cox was a decent rebounder and passer. I can't believe how poorly some handle the ball. I thought we were bad at missing layups. We are great compared to them.

Interesting. Gabbi couldn't hit. But, she had six boards, six assists, and five steals.

Oh fer 6, oh fer 2 BTA, yet she logged the most minutes of anyone on the team in the Argentina game. Obviously, the coach saw value in having Gabbi on the floor, despite her non-contributions on the scoreboard.

However, Gabbi needs to step up her game, or it is likely that her minutes will decline, IMO.

When I saw them, Gabbi was the only person who could handle the ball. She hasn't been shooting much, but they have ten girls who want to shoot every shot. They just fumble it off their fingers a lot. She'll play because they have nobody else that can handle the ball---yet.

Napheesa Collier (UConn) is by far the most impressive player on the roster, in my opinion. As much as I loathe the thought, UConn will be untouchable next year. Once Jefferson and Stewart graduate, they may get a few losses.

Wasn't Collier the other girl on McKenna's highschool team? I've seen her three times. Each time, I was left wondering what Geno saw in her. She shot, but missed. She wasn't particularly solid on rebounding and had no idea what defense was. It may be that I just caught her when she had off games. It seemed to me that she would shoot fifteen threes, hit a couple late in the game, and everyone would brag on her. If she has talent, Geno will use it. I just haven't seen it yet. She does have good movement.
