What if it was something you have followed and loved for 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+ years. Has brought you joy, connection to family, and feeling like belonging (even if on a message board)? And now, you just have to suffer a bit, bc you either have higher hopes or expectations for what the program is? It is part of being a fanatic. The ride or die for a club or franchise.

Let's not be quick to judge, just because someone is negative doesn't mean they don't have the same passion for the entire reason we are all members, Sooners Basketball. We just have different viewpoints and express them differently.

In life you have to take the bad to enjoy the good. Experience pain to know joy. It is the yin and yang. We just are yinnin' when we want to be yangin'.

To piggyback on this, here is a list of the teams I have supported since I was eight: OU football and basketball, the Mets, the Raiders, and the Flyers. The Flyers last won the Cup a few months before I was born. The Raiders won the Super Bowl shortly before I became a fan and have been a laughingstock for the past two decades. The Mets won their only World Series of my lifetime 38 years ago and are a circus more often than not.

I am loyal. I don't change teams. I am not any less passionate when they suck. I will call out bad coaching/managing/playing when warranted, but I also will recognize and applaud great managing and play (the Mets this season were as fun to watch as I can imagine, and led by a rookie manager who was spectacular).

Regarding OU, I grew up in a KU state surrounded by KU friends and family members, and would be willing to bet that no one on this board has gotten more crap over the years for being an OU fan. So, I think I have earned the right to complain about the state of our program the past four years. And as I said last night, one irony is that the people who bitch about me bitch both ways -- they want me to post less, but then immediately complain if I don't post during our glorious 15-minute stretch against NW State.

Yeah, his energy, length, and movement are impactful, but they are also part of the problem. I think he needs to slow down just a bit, and that will help his fouling.

For example, on his 1st or 2nd foul, he rushes out to the wing in front of our bench to cover a guard. As he gets up to him, he stands straight up, arms extended, but then begins to body the guard to pick up the foul.

Part of that is not being mentally smart- he's not going to force a steal and he's forced the guard to pick up his dribble. Just defend the passing lane. Part of it is fundamentals and coaching, as he should have been in a proper guarding position. But most of it, or so it seems, is because he's going 110 MPH trying to make something happen and needs to back of the accelerator a bit and play within the game.

He brings something we haven't had on the floor in a while so I'm not ready after two games to say his history is who he is. Excited who he can be just hope the PT in these non-conference games can turn on the light bulb.

An in-control Mo Wague can be a difference-maker off the bench.

I would love for him to be able to play 15 min a game min ... because he impacts the game

Ou even back to Sampson glory days would struggle in non con with lower quality teams. Coppin state and Mercer always played well against us. I will hold judgement on this team till thanksgiving tournament. We will know more then.

Yeah, losing would be a disaster but at end of the day just take these for what they’re worth.

Not saying all concerning trends are irrelevant or dismissible. Interior concerns from the offseason seems to be warranted IMO but again if they play well against real competition what is there to really complain about.

That's too early. The faceplants don't come 'til February. Patent pending.

There is simply no way to know just what we have in this team until at least a few games into conference. This is a true statement about almost every team in the College game. All teams ebb and flow and you just have to see how they develop, what if any injuries they have, and what their momentum is as they move into the meat of their conference play.

I heard Toby and TJ saying they think this will be Moser's best defensive team. I'm not sure I agree. I think, when and if they get everyone playing, they will be his best offensive team. Defensively, they will need to be better stopping dribble penetration and Wague will have to learn how to stay out of foul trouble. I do think this will be a pretty good rebounding team.

Win or lose, they are my favorite of his teams to watch. Fears is worth the price of admission by himself. And, I like the offensive skill set of most of the new guys better than some of the guys we have had. Hope springs eternal as they say.

If you think that second half was “going good,” it says a lot. As for me, I never once thought we would lose last night. At half, I figured we would win an ugly game, which is largely what happened. They actually extended the lead out of halftime before someone reminded Moser that our best guard was sitting next to him on the pine.

As for the comments about not knowing what we have till later, that might be true to a degree, but it’s possible to evaluate talent and athleticism. It’s one thing if a Duke or KU struggles to put away a bad team because they aren’t making any shots. It’s another for us to get our shots swatted like we are facing Bill Russell. We looked less athletic than our opponent for much of the game. That’s concerning, regardless of how you want to spin it.

Ou scored 45 in second half, that would have been pace for 90. I think they played pretty good with scoring 45. Definitely better to build on the second half then the first.

We also allowed less points than Texas Tech did against them. And at least in the second half I felt NWS had some very difficult shots that went in. I didn't get to watch the first half as closely

I don’t think there is any reason to bicker about this team because two of their top players haven’t even played a full game yet. No reason to get excited or upset with the current lineup. We will have a much better picture once Goodine and Jones gets 100%.

Yes it is…. Let’s hope for the best. The guards aren’t very athletic. Fears has a promising future. He will be hard to hold on to. Hopefully Porter doesn’t wear him out with his overcoaching.

On the radio broadcast last night, Toby said NWS's game with Tech was close until there were a few minutes left in the second half (10 minutes, I think he said), at which point Tech began to pull away. Not so different from our game. It's entirely possible NWS will prove to be a little better than was thought--we'll see.
