Geno and Muffet

She's made it clear she doesn't like Mulkey, either. I don't know that she really warms up to anyone competitive.

Geno is the best coach in women's basketball. Typical ND jealousy. Glad they lost.

Geno is a superb coach. Certainly he gets the elite players but maybe that is because they sense that he will make them great players.

One of the assistants, Shea Ralph is from this area and got a lot of local ink when playing for Geno at Connecticut. It was very clear that Geno saw the potential in her and constantly challenged her to be the best player for the team that she could be. It wasn't just about individual performance but how Ralph could improve to make the team better. As he said at the end of the game last night, he gets very upset when one of their players look bad. Thus, no matter the score he will get into their face when they make a careless play.

That would be a wild scene with OU's 15-25 turnovers a game.

He will not be widely popular because he wins too much. But I'm sure the UConn fans really love him.

His name was mentioned for the OU men's team when Capel was hired. Many feel that he could not be successful in men's basketball but coaching talent is coaching talent wherever found. It would have been an interesting ride.

Even though I don't personally like Geno, I would be elated if he was hired as the HC at OU. He recognizes talent. He convinces that talent to go to UCONN. He develops that talent. He molds that talent from all the players into an elite team. You can't do it any better than that.

Hey UConn and Notre Dame --- why don't you join a REAL football conference!!!!

:D

PS: I don't give a crap how many undefeated national championship seasons he has gotten at the Conn, I don't want Geno coaching our womens (or mens) teams at OU.

Geno can do it with less talent because he makes them do it ALL correctly. I am not saying that he is good personally for a player, (which I think is most important), I am just saying he knows the game and knows how to coach and make a player and a team better. Someone could do that and be good for the players in all matters, I have no clue about him in that regard.

I don't believe I've ever seen him walk on the court with less talent than the team he's playing! He gets the top recruits in the land and he doesn't even have to recruit the player til their Juniors usually. All the other top programs start recruiting around the 9th grade for the top players to be. Next year watch out again--Stewart (top high school and college player in the counrty) and Jefferson top pt guard in country coming out of high school--Every year same chap. same verse!

I did not say that he had. I just meant that he could. Just my opinion. I am also not saying a huge difference in talent.

Because he does a superb job of developing his talent he will usually walk on the court with superior talent.

That is what coaching is all about.

I wish that our staff would go to UCONN this summer for a week learning from Geno and his staff.
