Proud of him returning to work. Everybody makes mistakes and has to face consequences. A bigger mistake than the original error is blaming other people. It appeared AD was heading down that road publicly criticizing the Vikings for their response to his behavior. Vikings were in a tough spot and had to do what they did.

Glad to see him changing his tune. It was bad advice to try to use his legal issue as a way out of his contract. Damaged his reputation further. Alls well that ends well. Hope he has a great season. Viking have a young QB who might be special.

AD got screwed. He was right to be upset.

He was a decent basketball player at OSU, but I didn't realize he still played professionally.

while i think he was treated a little harshly and the abuse was overblown (which is a completely different thread) I don't see how he got screwed in regards to his contract stuff.

The players agreed to no guarenteed contracts

He also got paid big to play in 1 game last season. He didn't get screwed whatsoever.

NFL players have gotten shorter suspensions for killing people. Don't even try to justify this punishment.

What was the punishment? Paying him all the money with none of the physical risks?

Sign me up.

Those 2 killed HUMANS.

Leonard Little as well.

I think the guy from the Cowboys got 10 weeks, but I'm not sure how that all turned out.

Josh Brent got 180 days in jail for DWI crash that killed Cowboys teammate Jerry Brown. Brent was also sentenced to ten years probation for an intoxication manslaughter conviction stemming from the Dec. 2012 crash that killed Brown, who was a passenger in Brent's car.

Here's a bad NFL story:

Same deal for Leonard Little except he killed a wife/mother when he drove thru a stop light while drunk (.19) in 1998. This was a man who, according to the police report, was so indifferent at the time of the accident that he said of the victim, "The [expletive] ran a yellow light and hit me, wrecking my $45,000 [expletive] car."

Little pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 90 days in the city workhouse, 4 years probation and 1,000 hours of community service. The NFL suspended him for eight games in 1999.

In January of 2003, Little was charged with communicating threats and making harassing calls according to the police department. Little's attorney said the charges were filed after Little and his former girlfriend ended their relationship

On April of 2004, Little was arrested again for driving while intoxicated after being stopped by police for driving 78 in a 55 mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 64. At the time he had red eyes, smelled of alcohol and failed three roadside sobriety tests and refused a breathalyzer test. He later admitted drinking alcohol to the police. After being convicted of misdemeanor speeding but acquitted of DWI, Little was sentenced to two years' probation in May of 2005. He received no penalty from the NFL.

Also, in 2005 Little received the Ed Block Courage Award from the St. Louis Rams that is an annual award presented to selected players in the NFL, who are voted by their teammates as role models of inspiration, sportsmanship, and courage.

He retired from football in 2010 and was later voted to the Rams 10th anniversary team. Unbelievable but true.....

Abuse is abuse. Intent does not matter, so those who say he didn't mean to are ignorant. And ignorance is not an excuse. He is making $13 million, so the fact he was complaining seems very childish. But it is good he went to OTA's, so hopefully this will blow over.

people disagree on what abuse is.

Some say a spanking of any kind is abuse. Some say a spanking with anything other than a hand is abuse.

Hell my mom swatted us with plastic hangers and a think board.

Once she lit a match and blew it out and then put it on my brothers arm b/c he wouldn't stop playing with matches.

it's all relative

Of course it does.

Some people care about things other than money. As was stated by another poster, though, he lost a good chunk of that as well.
