Leonard Little as well.
I think the guy from the Cowboys got 10 weeks, but I'm not sure how that all turned out.
Josh Brent got 180 days in jail for DWI crash that killed Cowboys teammate Jerry Brown. Brent was also sentenced to ten years probation for an intoxication manslaughter conviction stemming from the Dec. 2012 crash that killed Brown, who was a passenger in Brent's car.
Here's a bad NFL story:
Same deal for Leonard Little except he killed a wife/mother when he drove thru a stop light while drunk (.19) in 1998. This was a man who, according to the police report, was so indifferent at the time of the accident that he said of the victim, "The [expletive] ran a yellow light and hit me, wrecking my $45,000 [expletive] car."
Little pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 90 days in the city workhouse, 4 years probation and 1,000 hours of community service. The NFL suspended him for eight games in 1999.
In January of 2003, Little was charged with communicating threats and making harassing calls according to the police department. Little's attorney said the charges were filed after Little and his former girlfriend ended their relationship
On April of 2004, Little was arrested again for driving while intoxicated after being stopped by police for driving 78 in a 55 mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 64. At the time he had red eyes, smelled of alcohol and failed three roadside sobriety tests and refused a breathalyzer test. He later admitted drinking alcohol to the police. After being convicted of misdemeanor speeding but acquitted of DWI, Little was sentenced to two years' probation in May of 2005. He received no penalty from the NFL.
Also, in 2005 Little received the Ed Block Courage Award from the St. Louis Rams that is an annual award presented to selected players in the NFL, who are voted by their teammates as role models of inspiration, sportsmanship, and courage.
He retired from football in 2010 and was later voted to the Rams 10th anniversary team. Unbelievable but true.....
