Yes, I agree. They also have co-defending champ Florida in Norman in March. Will be one of the biggest meets in history on campus.

I've thought that KJ was going to be the next Mark Williams, Patty Gasso and she's proving her worth. Great get by Joe C. She's recruiting very well and has the team performing at a high level. I think it was important for her to break into that NC level and I believe she will continue.

We have a very good chance to win at least 2 NC this year (men's and women's gym) and of course, softball will be there as well along with John Roddick's tennis squad (#2 after national runnerup last year). Exciting spring ahead!

You mean 2 in addition to a Women's bball NC, right?

I was very excited with the hiring of Kindler. When she was at Iowa State she had them competing at a very high level. They gave us fits and seemed to never miss a routine.

I follow them close. They have most of their performers improve their personal best every year. Of course the freshman Dowell already has a 10 on the bars so no improvement available there.

The men have an absurdly large lead right now.

Kindler appears to have the strategy that teams rise and fall on their performance on the beam. Indeed, the beam generates a lot of mistakes, and you have a great advantage if you have girls who can get through the beam without falling off. Even balance checks can downgrade a performance significantly.

We lost a good part of our beam team to graduation. But, we, once again, have seven who seem to be able to give us solid performances. Probably only two or three teams can rely on their beam performers.

Yes, Dowell is going to be great! I saw Ali Jackson (another outstanding freshman) in the first home meet on the floor and she's dynamite! But Brenna (Dowell) is going to be great All-Around performer!

Kindler personally coaches the beam where we are always strong nationally. I think she is still working out her rotation there. I would not be suprised to see another freshman break out on the beam before the season is over.

There appear to be 15 men's Division I gymnastic teams. 52 women's. I assume that this is a Title IX effect.
