Sophomore center Hannah Gusters has left the LSU women’s basketball program, the school confirmed Thursday.
Gusters left the team before preseason practice began last Monday. According to team spokesman Grant Kuvar, Gusters is expected to remain enrolled at LSU at least through the fall semester.
A 6-foot-5 native of Dallas, the former five-star prospect was the one player who transferred to LSU from Baylor when coach Kim Mulkey left the Texas school to take the LSU job. Gusters played in 27 of LSU’s 32 games last season, averaging 4.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
Gusters scored a career-high 19 points in the Tigers’ 82-40 season opening win against Nicholls State, but her stay at LSU was a stormy one. She missed four straight games in December after being indefinitely suspended.
