I just had a tweet favorited by the greatest Big 12 basketball color analyst of all time -- Reid Gettys.

Jealous? The only thing left to cross off my twitter bucket list now is the coveted Doug Bell follow/retweet. #RIPSTUDIO66

Who are some of your twitter brushes with greatness?

I had a tweet favorited by the guy that played Bud Bundy (on Married with Children) about a year ago. I think I smiled for 24 straight hours over that one.

Chris Hansen (the stiff who anchors NFL Redzone) replied to my tweet telling him he sucked. Normally wouldn't do something like this, but his terribleness is so overwhelming I had to.

Had a small Twitter spat with Terrell Owens.

I enjoy him

As an old movie buff, it was a treat to have Turner Classic Movies favorite one of my tweets.

And then I've had a few OU players (hoops and football) favorite my congratulatory and/or supportive tweets, which is always nice.

Scott Hansen is actually the red zone guy. Chris Hansen is the CNN "To Catch a Predator" guy.

It's Scott Hansen, and I think he's awesome.

Yeah, you probably don't want Chris Hansen favoriting your tweets.

Got into a Twitter argument with KD's brother with a buddy. Was hilarious, we had looked up his horrible stats at Towson university, I think they were 4.2 ppg and 2.4 rpg and how he was garbage. He was tweeting like a baller and we called him on it and riding his brothers coat tails. Showed his stats and asked how he ever played for the Thunder summer team, and if his last name wasn't durant would he have been invited. He got all mad, then KD stepped in and tweeted at him to quit talking with us.

I bet that made you guys feel awesome didn't it?

I mean we weren't doing it to bow up or anything. He was just online bragging about how awesome he was, so we replied and it built from there. I mean I have no regrets messing with him, he's arrogant for no reason and hasn't held his tongue about OKC or the coaching staff and doesn't do much but cause KD more PR problems. Plus alcohol was involved and technically he's older than me, so it's not like I was some old man punking on a kid. Was in college at the time

I don't tweet, so can't match you there. I basically live in The Woodlands (north Houston) where Reid Gettys lives. I also refereed basketball and was calling a summer league game where he was the head coach for a team his HS son played on. There was a play late in a game where one of his players was trapped in the backcourt and panicked and tried a full-court desperation pass, and Reid ran up to me tried to call a timeout. I didn't give it to him and explained the ball was in the air and they didn't have possessions. Reid stopped and said something like "Oh my gosh you're right. I can't believe I got all that excited in a summer league game. I apologize". We actually were decent friends and he would relay his impressions of the Sooners if he called one of their TV games (Sampson was the coach).

Also, Avery Johnson's son played in that league. He now plays at A&M and Avery Sr is the Alabama basketball coach. Sr was coach of the Dallas Mavericks at the time. I called a violation on his son on a free throw late in the ballgame and his son's team lost. He came down to the court after the game and thanked me for calling it…. broke from top of circle before the ball hit the rim on a free throw. After that we always chatted when he came to games.

Somewhat similarly: I used to umpire little league games. One night I got a call saying there was some sort of scheduling error and there were no umps at a game that started right now. I busted it over to the field and got there before any other ump. One of the teams had Deion Sanders' kid on it. The kids were younger (younger than I usually umped, maybe 7 or 8 or so), so Deion volunteered to come out and ump the field for me until my partner showed up. Since the kids were so young I told him to go for it, and he helped me call the first 2 innings. I always thought that was a fun little interaction.

I was retweeted by THE Mark Cuban. My mentions blew up for hours.

Also Vanilla Ice and Morgan Fairchild follow me.
(Which I find hilarious)
