How far has OU fallen?

Consider this: The Sooners have owned Arizona in years past, with a 5-1 record in the series since 1988. Those wins included a 17 point beat down in Norman last year, and that was with an OU team that thought teamwork was an alarm to announce the next shift at a local factory.

I think we all knew this team had very little chance of winning today. And to be honest, I thought we might lose by 30 or more. But I cannot find solace in the fact that we held a team to a 23 point loss, when I continue to see the same mistakes on defense we witnessed to start the season.

Makes me wonder what the heck our coaches work on in practice? If it's running plays for Thompson while Fitz works his arse off to rebound his misses, consider me unimpressed. And, yes, I plan to keep bringing it up after every game, even if Nick makes 100% of his treys from this point forward. This team does not have the luxury of allowing a 6' 8" post player to roam the perimeter and pretend to be a wing.

Bad enough that I just got tagged in a FB post from one of my friends that goes to Zona...smh :facepalm

You are being unfair to Capel. He is a good guy. This is not his fault. You should be thrilled thatOU was down by ten early and never even made a run. You should have great pride that OU did not lose by 30.

Joe C is going to lose his job over this if he doesn't act soon. He cannot sit back and do nothing blaming all of this on Capel. He hired him. He gave him a big raise way too early. Now he has to fix it.

Bring Billy Tubbs back right??

Get a clue.

Far enough I totally forgot OU was playing Arizona today
In the past that would have been unthinkable for me

No he's not.

If he doesn't get control of this situation he might. This is big business with millions of dollars at stake. He is ultimately responsible and the donors will not be happy if this continues. When the money gets mad changes are made

the only way joe c loses his job over the basketball program is if there is some kind of scandal. otherwise, as long as the football program is successful, he will have a job.

to answer the question, though, we have fallen a long, long ways. much further than i thought was imaginable.

Let's be honest: the donors only really give a crap about football. That being said, you are 100% correct that this is Joe's mess. He owns this.

Honestly there are times where I thought we've reached the rock bottom but then some dynamite gets thrown in there. Then Capel is thrown a new shovel.

That or its like Holes where there are just a bunch of 5 foot by 5 foot holes everywhere.

Joe C is not going to lose his job. That's just stupid to even mention. However Capel might.

BREAKING: ESPN announces OU to play in the inaugural China Invitational next season as part of Feast Week.

Football is the money making sport. Basketball hasn't been a money making factor since Tubbs left. Even when Sampson was here the program still wasn't raking in money. It's hard to make money when fans don't care enough to buy tickets, even when the team is good. Therefore this post is irrelivant, football alone will keep Joe C in office.

Well Basketball doesn't make as much as football period. I think KU football made more than KU basketball in a long time when they went to a BCS game a few years back. Very few programs make money in sports outside of football.

Joe C has job security for a long time. The Bob Stoops / Sherri Coale hires alone make him look like a genius.

Not to mention all the NC's in gymnastics. Even though there is no money there we still beat everyone else.

Joe C inherited Sherri Coale. She was a Steve Owens hire. Regardless, he's considered one of the top AD's in the country...he's going absolutely nowhere unless he wants to.

True. My memory is shot.
