I did a little research once I returned from last night's game, and it doesn't paint a pretty picture for future Field House Series games.

2012 UCO: 2880
2012 eATMe Corpus Christi: 2751
2013 OK Christian: 2703
2014 SW OK State: 1481

Normal exhibition games are tacked into the overall price of a season ticket. I'm not sure how many season ticket holders we have these days (with the rumors of the upper level being purchased by an anonymous donor for the Washburn game) but you've got to believe that the Athletic Department won't be too keen to forego forcing somebody to buy a $10 ticket at the LNC as to hoping someone buys a $5 ticket at the Field House.

My stance on attendance, or lack thereof, is well documented...so I know this will come across as more jaded ramblings. But I'll be very sad to see these Field House games go. It's a tremendous place to watch a basketball game, and I'd like to think that it would take a little more than a stiff north wind to keep folks from making the trip to campus.

But I suppose we've seen them stay away for less.

I attended one of the Field House games and it's a poor facility for basketball in the 21st century. I was sitting in the top level, behind the south basket and you couldn't even see about half of the lane down below and a lot of that portion of the court. It's just not a viable 21st century facility. In the 80's LNC was known as one of the most difficult places to play. And it was because of the fans. The fans were loud and involved and made it difficult for opposing teams to win. It may not be the ideal layout for a basketball arena but it's the same layout as it was in the 80's. The fans are the difference in the atmosphere at LNC. There are always excuses a mile long for not attending and we could build a brand new basketball specific facility in the middle of campus and win a NC and it still wouldn't significantly change the average OU fans interest in attending basketball games. It's very disappointing.

I love the fact that there aren't orange seats in there.

no orange seats in any OU basketball facility

unless you are color blind

We've been over this before. It's orange.

It's hard to watch on TV. The court markings aren't the best and the glare off the floor was horrible.
