Poor ball movement, poor rebounding, poor effort, NOT ONE GOOD PASSER ON THE TEAM, and poor execution. Boy a true playmaker would do wonders for us. Our PGs are really shooting guard's trying to play point.

Basically we have a bunch of athletes who DO NOT resemble a quality basketball team.

I still love our guys though, and hope we turn it around and win out !!!

You be better off to hope they win another game

The reality is that OU has two 4-Star recruits on the roster, McGusty and Freeman, according to Rivals.

Florida, for example, is loaded with 4-Star recruits, Devin Robinson is a 5-Star recruit.

LK's strength has never been recruiting, it's been player development. It's a young and inexperienced (though talented) team and there are going to be years like this in a league as tough as the Big 12.

OU isn't KU in basketball, you don't lose four guys to pro basketball and bring in four more pros the next recruiting class just as good that plug right in.

While I agree OU should always be an NCAA Tournament team (or close to that level), last year spoiled a lot of people and created unrealistic expectations.

Most young team tend to get better as the season moves on...Not sure about this OU team

It's not like we expected a lot. Think about Buddy's first year. Not overly talented but young team with a couple senior leaders but a team that competed hard. Barely made the NCAA Tournament and lost a competetive game against San Diego State. You could see that group getting better. Woodard joining in the next year really set a solid tone for the next couple seasons. Coming in we should be looking at it much like that year. 2 guys that should be leaders by now in Latin and Woodard(Osby and Pledger were leaders in 2013) and a lot of young guys getting experience. But Woodard's been a bust this year. Just not a good year for such a good player for 3 years. And Lattin's been awful. And our young guys are just not as good as that group so far. This team is more athletic but lacks any real basketball knowledge.

And herein lies my issue with this team. I really don't see any noticeable improvement with this group. With some individual players....yes, I've seen guys like McGusty and Doolittle blossom. But this team, as a whole, has taken a step backwards since the beginning of the season. And for anyone who thinks we are automatically going to be better next year because we are "a year older", then I would invite them to look at our returning pieces we have currently....and then figure out the cure to our disfunction. We lose Woodard...who is arguably our best player (although he has stunk the last several games) and we don't return a competent PG. We are weak inside and have only limited outside shooting ability. This team is inconsistent at best on the defensive end.

Are all of these problems solvable?....yes. But candidly, I just don't see these issues being resolved with our current crop of players. Bottom line....we need to recruit better in order to sustain the success we've experienced the last several years.

No doubt we stunk up the place yesterday. But playing terrible yesterday doesn't mean we'll play terrible the rest of the year just as playing well at WVU didn't mean we would play well the rest of the year.

If you just look at Rivals, you are correct. But if you look at multiple sites (Rivals, 247, ESPN) we have sever al 4 star guys:

McGusty
Freeman
Lattin
Buford
James
Odomes

All those players were "4 stars" by at least one site. We have some talent, but we lack some intangibles to go with it. I truly believe a player like a Trae Young could really elevate this team. Whether that will happen or not.....who knows.

Come on. We were getting better until yesterday. 1 bad game doesn't undo all the progress this team has been making. Up until about 2 days ago, there were multiple threads about how great Doolittle and McGusty have been playing. Now that's just gone? No way.

I stand corrected, I just looked at the Rivals Rankings.
