In not so Manhappiness. Thought they were toast when they had to play the OT w/o Brackins, but to their credit they stuck together & came out on top. I did about have a coronary though, when Pullen got fouled on that 3 at the end. I bet McDermott's hair count took a severe hit on that one.

This is the type of thing that upsets me about OU this year. CU nearly beats KU. ISU beats KSU. OSU beat KU. Some of those other "bottom half" teams still had some impressive wins. OU's best win comes against the number 5 finishing team (still not sure how we pulled that one off).

Frank has done an outstanding job with that team but they aren't a top 10 team. I think reality is setting in a bit and the weakness of the Big 12 is starting to show.

THANK YOU!!!!!

I've been saying it since day 1. I don't care what our RPI is, or any of that nonsense. We have a TON of good, quality, middle of the pack teams. I'd say teams 2-7 are all the type of teams that usually finish 4th or 5th in the conference. Just b/c the bottom is a little better, doesn't mean we are top heavy, b/c we aren't.

I don't give a ton of credence to "how a conference does in the Dance", but I really think the Big 12 will underperform. A lot of that depends on the draws though.

No way. They may not be a 3 if they lose round 1 in the conference tourney.
And quite honestly I think OSU will beat them in round 1.

Dude you just hate KSU like no other, why is that its not like they actually compete with you?

people always say stuff like this as if there was some objective standard for what makes a top 10 team. there isn't. it's just a ranking based on comparative accomplishments.

go ahead and rank team's accomplishments yourself. it's certainly possible to choose criteria that would rank kstate outside the top 10. but if you use results based criteria (i.e. wins and losses), it's be pretty hard to choose an objective method that would kick them out of the top 10. certainly top 15.

that doesn't mean they're significantly better than some team ranked 25th. or 35th. or whatever.

and it's even harder to find any objective criteria that show that the big 12 is "weak". in fact, it's impossible.

Ummm, yeah, I know. This is a message board for people to express opinions.
What do you want to talk about? And how do you want to talk about it?

I think we can all agree that KSU just had the worst loss of the year in the Big 12. Talk about choking.

I wonder would could have happened at ISU if Staiger didnt quit, and Vanderbeken never got hurt. I bet they would have finished better than they did.

certainly. still would have had serious guard problems. but better than 4-12.

This loss should knock Frank Martin out of the COY award in the Big 12 but what I've heard most have already voted. I don't know why...they should wait until Sunday after the season ends.
