Jessica Mercer 2018 PG

She plays at Westmoore and I have seen her play. She is a very good player with some flash to her game. Very impressive in the open court with many different ways to score. Was very good in 6A last year as a freshman on a good team!

She has apparently been impressive this summer. I hope to watch her play this fall.

I teach at Westmoore and had Jessica(Jessi) in an preAP science class last year, her freshman year. She is very intelligent, maybe the best student I had all year. I've been watching girls b-ball in Oklahoma for almost 40 yrs. She may have the highest basketball IQ for a girl her age I've ever seen. She can handle the ball and shoot with both hands. Sees the floor and distributes the ball well. Is not intimidated by anyone, even though she was a freshman on the floor. She was about 5'6" to start the year, but grew about an inch by years end. She has great blood lines. Her great uncle was Bobby Murcer, and her mom was a big time b-ball player at Carl Albert/Choctaw maybe. She is a huge Sherri Coale and OU fan. She was a starter from day 1 last year at WHS. She, along with Ashley Gomez, quickly became the Jags go to in every situation. The WHS team returns all 5 starters from last year, and should make a strong run toward a 6A state title this year.

Thank you, I will. I had to check with a buddy of mine on Jessi's mother. Her mother was an All-Stater at Del City with Etta Maytubby. Her mom, Jessi's, was one of the "Super Five" for The Oklahoman her senior year. Jessi has a younger sister that will be a freshman at Westmoore this coming year.

Back to school yesterday. Jessica is starting to attract attention over the summer. Now, remember, she will be only a soph this year. Contacted by numerous schools, most noteworthy up to now aTm. Many more likely to follow. To reiterate, she is a huge Sherri Coale and OU fan.

How much recruiting can a school do with a HS Soph? Are there any limits that don't exist for a SR?
