Dom Raney and Josh Richardson are two of the better of unsigned guard prospects in 2011 class for Oklahoma. Raney is more of a combo type at 6'4 and is one of the better scorers in the state. Richardson is a wing that is long, lean and a good athlete at 6'5.

Their teams are also some of the best in 6A so this should be a great match up(will be on Cox 3).

Tip is listed at 8PM but I would suspect it to be a little later than that due to the girls game being played preceding it.

OUHoops.com will have coverage of this game.

Santa Fe is the better team.

However in basketball you never know what is going to happen. Just look at some of the 6A scores this season already.

Sante Fe is the better team. If Tre Payne were back, PCO would be the more talented team. PCO has some issues.

I have heard several stories on why Payne is out. He was at the PCI but not on the bench or around the guys.

PC lead 35-25 at the half but a strong second half lead to the 70-56 win Edmond Santa Fe win.

Here are some observations on players from the game.

Dominique Raney 6'2 SG 2011

Raney started out hot, shooting very well. Even shook a kid on a crossover that left him on the ground then buried the three. Then he got shot happy in the second half and took some bad shots and got out of rhythm. He shot better then he had in previous games of his that I had seen. Did a better job of creating his shot and in the first half in general settled for better shot selection. When PC faced some adversity in the second half on offense he went into shot happy mode.

David Bush 5'9 Combo Guard 2013
Small, quick and aggressive. A surprising good finisher given his size and youth vs Edmond's size down low. I thought he had around 15 but when I got home and read on newsok he lead them with 22. He plays the game fast and aggressive which at times leads to easy buckets (fast breaks) or tough finishes in traffic. At times though he gets into trouble as he bites off more then he can chew when attacking the basket vs bigger older players. Made some jumpers but looked more comfortable catching and shooting then creating his own jumper.

Considering his youth he's a guy to keep an eye on if he grows some and develops more PG skills.

Edmond Santa Fe
Josh Richardson 6'5 Wing 2011
Battled foul trouble in the 2nd half and spent most of it on the bench. Every time I watch I like his athleticism and feel for the game even better. On the flip side his jumper becomes even more worrisome. The form is a little weird and he just doesn't strike me a guy who will ever be a great shooter at the next level.

He's an active and smart defender who gets a lot of steals with a combo of quick hands and long arms. He also had good bounce and will slam if given the chance. Richardson is a good defender and good athlete and while smart on offense that part of his game needs work.

Mike Onuoha 6-7 Forward 2012
If he was a few inches taller I think he would a big time prospects with the chance at Big 12 play. As is he's still a big presence at 6'7 and I would guess 230-40 or so. Sat out the 1st half due to foul trouble but was a beast in the low post in 2nd half. Blocked a ton of shots, hit the boards, scored a lot of buckets. Pretty good athlete and coordination too for a man his size.

Yet to see him play much against similar or taller height so that will be a big test for him. PC has a big 6'6 freshman but he's still young and looked raw so it wasn't an equal match up.

Onuoha is a guy who right now is a sleeper prospect and it will be interesting to see how he finishes the season and does on the summer circuit. The two times I've watched him this year he's impressed after being a reserve last season.

Too add to Sam's scouting report, OUHoops was also at two other games and recieved a report from a small college coach on another game.

Game 1: Stillwater vs. Lawton Ike

If you were to judge the game based on the eye test, you would give the game to Lawton Ike. Ike had three 6'6 players, not including the injured 6'9 Dre Wright. Dominique Perkins, a 6'2 guard appeared to be their best player. A strong and physical senior who had the ability to elevate over competition or muscle himself to higher percentage shots. Devin McBride, a 6'6 pf had a nice skillset, but didn't have as much lift as you would have expected him to have and also not as physical as expected.

Despite Lawton Ike's physical appearance, Stillwater dominated the game. Led by 5'11 senior pg Jordan Pounds, Stillwater used a balanced attack to control the tempo of the game. Josh Pierre, Stillwater's, starting shooting guard showed his abilty to knock down the long range three and also the IQ to make the extra pass to open players. Alex Budke, Stillwater's 6'2 power forward, didn't have a particular good game, after coming off of a performance where he played great against Matt Christiansen and OKC McGuiness. Stillwater goes about 9 deep with any one player in the rotation having the ability to be the teams leading scorer. Stillwater ended up winning 55-50.

At Midwest Ciity, two hot prospects in twins Contreal and Cortrez Colbert faced off with Del City. The game was a competitive game as the two cross town rivals went back and forth and eventually into overtime. 2013 top ten player, Cornell Neal made a big three point play to seal the deal for Midwest City. Contreal and Contrez Colbert had 16 and 11 points respectively. Both guards are high pressure defenders who excel in transition and attacking the basket. Originally thought to be football prospects, both players now are in position to receive scholarship offers from ORU and are receiving heavy interest from Tulsa and Stephen F. Austin. The remainder of the Bomber's roster is made up of 5'10 2014 standout Omega Harris and quarterback for the Bomber's football team, Greg Austin.

Tulsa Central has quietly been one of the best teams in the state in any class. The Braves have played with a chip on their shoulders as other Tulsa area teams get all the press and fanfare. Friday night was another night for the Braves to flex their muscle as they defeated Tulsa East Central and Player of the year candidate 6'7 senior Andrew Wilson, 60-47. Central was led by the explosive 2012 top 15 shooting guard Revey Norton(pronounced Re-vay). Norton a super athlete who has only been playing basketball for three years, was ranked 7th on our 2012 rankings initially, but could potentially move up to 3rd in the post season rankings. He followed up a 32pt effort Monday with a 23pt effort today. Norton's Performance was complimented by 5'9 shifty point guard Ryan Devers. Devers, who is the floor general for the Braves, Followed up a 20pt 14ast performance against Tulsa Webster, with a 13pt performance last night. Devers, despite his size, is being evaluated by division one schools Wichita State and Stephen F. Austin. Maybe the best performance of the night was put on by 6'5 power forward Chris Bates of Tulsa Central. Not only did the big bodied junior neutralize Player of the Year candidate Drew Wilson to only 7pts, he also chipped in 16pts of his own, to go along with 10rbs, a block and one rim rattling dunk.

Wilson, the 2011 All State power forward has had to bear extra pressure at East Central with the loss of 2012 Super Sleeper candidate, Kaleb Porter, out for OSSAA transfer rules. The 6'7 forward will be a big factor next year at Missouri State as his athleticism and ability to run the court are now being complimented by his ability to knock down 15ft jump shots. Tony Hall, a solid ball handling guard for East Central finished with a team leading 13pts.

The Central Braves have now knocked offf Tulsa Edison and Tulsa East Central and are currently 9-2 on the year with a 15pt loss to Tulsa Washington and an overtime loss to NW Classen in the Edmond Open. The Braves will face Tulsa Washington one more time this season which will prove to be a highly anticipated contest.

Here's a more detailed scouting report provided by an onlooking coach at The Tulsa Central vs. East Central game.

Chris Bates, 6'6 jr.

16pts, 10rbs, 3blks, 1 block against Drew Wilsn. Chris shot the ball decently. Caught fire in the 4th qtr. Most of his points came from the mid range. He had a couple of buckets on post up moves.

Revey Norton 6'2 jr,

23pts, 4rb, 1 block, 5 asst. Showed he could hit the mid range shot and handle the ball under pressure. He hit some key buckets in the 4th after turning his ankle and sitting out a few minutes. He proved unstoppable in the elbow isolation situations. His on ball defense along with the team was great. He also showed he could run the point guard position in a given situation.

Ryan Devers 5'9 sr.
13pts 10 asst, 2 steals. Ryan contines to prove he is one of if not the best point guard in the state. Ryan was the floor general on both sides of the ball and a true coach on the floor. Ryan had one of the better plays of the game with a run down block on an East Central fast break.
