Kaela Davis

I look at her stats. She scores, but at a high cost. She's 6-2, but she can't shoot forty percent? I think Tennessee can find someone who can hit a decent percentage of her shots. Kind of makes me wonder why Georgia Tech let her shoot that much to be a 19 point scorer when they had a lot of kids who could hit more than forty percent.

I would definitely call her a gunner... But when's she's hot she's hot... Seems like the Georgia Tech coach likes to give her star player the Green light, the last few years it was Ty Marshall who would cross half court and fire at will, like Davis did a lot this year.

Nether of them are allowed to give the game away with poor shooting either. Gabbi's primary role is to run the show. Gioya's is that of a creator. In fact, every starter except those two shot over forty percent, some more like fifty. Even the most-used reserves shot over forty percent. A bad shot is a turnover.

If she is putting up that many shots and only shooting 37-38%, that's like a turnover. Shoots too much. Needs to learn to pass. How does she get open that much, or do they just leave her open because she's not really a threat? Her shooting percentage in conference was horrible. She would shoot four of eight from three against a Grambling. Against an ACC opponent, she was 28 of 108 from three.

Andrea Riley was a lot that way. Lots of shots, not a great percentage shooter, but scored quite a bit mostly because she had the green light.

Some coaches like that strategy.

In one game I saw Davis cross half court about 3 feet behind the 3point line, I think the player guarding her had a hand on her and it was another defender running at her and she put up a 3 with about 23 seconds left on the shot clock. I was a little shocked by that... It looked to me like she'll take a shot no matter what...
