Texas receives a bye to the tournament finals.

I have no idea who the positive player is, or how that might affect OU, as the Sooners were obviously in close contact with most of KU's players last night.

This could place KU's NCAA Tournament hopes in jeopardy unless they can quickly maintain the outbreak to just 1 or 2 players.

seeing multiple teams having to leave the conference tournaments already has to have the NCAA on pins and needles a week away from the tournament starting... as for OU, contact tracing likely has to factor in someway

I assume they're just using extra precaution given how little importance these conference tourneys are compared to the NCAA tourney.

If they stopped crowning a regular season champion, it would add a lot more weight to the conference tournament. If you want to be officially recognized as conference champ, and hang a banner, etc you have to win the league tournament.

Regular season titles are dumb.

This is why P5 teams should have skipped the league tourneys this year. Regular season championships are always more important and a better indicator of the best team in a league, and there was no need to risk teams having to miss the NCAA tournament because of a positive test a week before the big dance tips off. Just have to hope and pray no one on our team caught it.

KU needs to self impose post season ban to avoid wrist slap.

Regular season titles are far more legitimate than conference tourneys.

I'll go a step further -- the NCAA tournament is the biggest scam in all of major sports.

It’s odd but I may be glad we lost because if we had won and a sick-hawk had gotten us thrown out I would be really pissed.

Welp, contact tracing might end our season.

By all contact tracing protocols, we’d be fine for the tourney as long as guys aren’t actually testing positive.

And trust me, the strictness of who can play and who can’t will be loosened next week. They’ve already admitted as much.

Prior to the OSU-Baylor game, Holly Rowe reported that all OU players and staff took tests in Norman today and should have results tonight.

This team had fallen off a cliff. If they can’t play in the tourney, they’re only saving themselves from an embarrassing first round loss. Again.

The embarrassing 1st round losses were a Kelvin thing not a Lon thing. We have had 1 bad loss in the tournament and that was ndsu. Kelvin had Manhattan, wisc-Milwaukee, Indiana state, Utah when we are the 2 or 3 seed.

I saw that, too, and kept hoping that we’d hear something about the results last night. Then I remembered that the local media don’t give a crap about our basketball program, so who knows when we will find out.
