The award show will be re-run at 6:30 tomorrow on ESPNU.

Last year's winner was Griner. Dell Donne and Duncan (200 M star from LSU) were the other two finalists.

Sooners' Keilani Ricketts wins Honda Cup
Published: June 24, 2013 by Ryan Aber

Oklahoma pitcher Keilani Ricketts has won plenty of awards during her stellar career with the Sooners. Monday night, she capped her collegiate career off with another, winning the 2013 Honda Cup. The award is given to the national’s top female college athlete by the Collegiate Women’s Sports Award.

Ricketts twice won the award for softball and became the third player from the sport to win the overall award, joining UCLA’s Natasha Watley (2003) and Lisa Fernandez (1993). She’s the first Sooners athlete to win the award.

She beat out the 11 other Honda Sports Award winners, including finalists Elena Delle Donne, a basketball player from Delaware, and LSU track and field athlete Kimberlyn Duncan.

Ricketts, the two-time USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, helped lead Oklahoma to the 2013 National Championship. In the championship-clinching win over Tennessee, she drove in all four runs in a 4-0 win.

She was 35-1 with a 1.23 ERA and 350 strikeouts in 238 1/3 innings pitched. She threw 16 shutouts, second-most in the nation. At the plate, Ricketts hit .379 with 15 home runs and 60 RBIs and a 1.259 OPS.

Ricketts will play for Team USA in the World Cup of Softball from July 11-14 in Oklahoma City.
